Okokon returns to Other People with his sophomore album, 'Offering', delving deeper into the lush and cinematic soundscapes he first explored on his debut album, 'Turkson Side'. While primarily working in visual arts, Africanus Okokon, who records under his surname, bridges his artistic practices in 'Offering', using his masterful collage techniques to create his most personal work yet. Defying easy categorization, the album melds influences from dream pop, avant-garde folk, psychedelia, trip hop, and dub, with traces of field recordings seamlessly blended throughout to form a cohesive whole.

'Offering' sees Okokon confronting and negotiating a sudden and unexplained death that occurred in his childhood and the complex emotions left in its aftermath, acting as his main inspiration when making the album. This ambiguity is something that permeates throughout, with Okokon wanting to explore the ambivalence and sometimes uneasiness of contradicting emotions appearing simultaneously, alluded to in the album title. This is also reflected in how the album tracks each inhabit different narrators with varying perspectives on the same events. The result being a hauntingly beautiful album, with recurring themes of death, growth, sacrifice and spirituality ever present.

We are absolutely thrilled to be closing off the year with another killer compilation, the fourth edition of our ‘Winter Weaponry’ series. This time around, we give our wonderful listeners a closing statement of the 3000 Bass catalogue across 2025, jam-packed with 12 original heaters from top to bottom.

It’s an extensive track listing, with a number of returning favourites including Eric Mark, Fantom Freq & Dread MC on the sizzling subs of ‘Feel No Way’, along with Sirmo & Dryman’s techy roller in ‘Massive’ and Bazz Maze's choppy bubbler in ‘Motion’. There is a real feeling of high energy and dance floor intent running across the rest of track listing here, with each and every producer delivering A-grade material, making this a perfect selection for any DJ collecting ammo for the winter season.

The second release on Samurai Music sub label Saibai welcomes Italian sound-world-builder Pianeti Sintetici for a richly rendered foray into dynamic electronica that moves like a set of vibrant ecosystems. 

Davide Perrone has developed his Pianeti Sintetici ('synthetic planets') alias to explore the idea of creating imaginary worlds through teeming, densely layered arrangements of modulating synthesis. He's previously delivered spellbinding albums and EPs to respected labels like Astral Industries and Hypnus. On 侍栽培二, Perrone ably blurs the lines between percussive, textural and melodic parts, letting voices bend and warp as each sound evolves through the labyrinthe lattice of his constructions. This is electronic music so dynamic and ever-shifting, it sounds positively sentient, and yet there's a strong emotional sentiment that binds these fantastic visions together as sincere expressions from a grounded, human perspective. 

True to Saibai's focus on deeper, mellower flights of fantasy away from the dancefloor, SAIBAI2 offers a kinetic, engaging listening experience dressed up in opulent tones that gleam, shimmer, bend and flex with hypnotising dexterity.
