The #slowmolounge is a series of events based at Kitchener’s Carvery Bar in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. Its sole purpose is to unearth a quality nu-disco, slow mo and deep house sound to a music hungry South Africa.

The SML Edition is an intermission in the mixed podcast series. It serves to celebrate the slow mo and disco edits genre holistically, that means it’s a little longer than our usual offer with a variety of track selections to help show appreciation for the diversity the genres brings.

In this edition, we feature Chuggin Edits. Hailing from Essex (UK), resident for The Last Days Of Shoreditch in London, Chuggin Edits, is no stranger to the depth and infectious groove of slow mo as a genre.

As dynamic a producer as he is a DJ, Chuggin Edits relentlessly continues to deliver on scorching, floor banging edits, inspired by the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Loose Change, and Stephanie Mills to name a few. His production credits include Deep Sense, FKR, Alpaca Edits, Masterworks Music and Boutade Musique (again, to name a few).

Gary Poulter AKA Chuggin Edits plays an exclusive Slow Mo Lounge mix, setting the bar high and the tempo low at a head-nodding, appreciative 92 - 105BPM, respectively. Love from Essex via South Africa.

Black Light Disco is a newly launched concept offering the best in disco, nu-disco, funk and house in some of the coolest venues across the UK. Our launch night is at Brick Street in the Baltic Triangle area of Liverpool on 22nd June 2019 and this mix is a taster of what's to come. Featuring selected cuts from Hot Digits Year 5, The Funk District, Dr Packer, Jarred Gallo and Peza all wrapped up in a blanket of disco love.
