The bond between Sprechen &amp; Black Hawks of Panama is a long one which started when Danny Whitehead (aka Black Hawks) gave Sprechen’s Chris Massey his very first ever DJ gig after he won a local DJ competition in sunny Bolton many moons ago! Skip forward a good 20 odd years and things have now gone full circle with a 2nd release dropping on Sprechen by Black Hawks of Panama and it’s another absolute top shelf discotheque rocker of seismic proportions.
Discoteca-Bisteca slaps from the very get go with the pump-o-meter cranked up to 11! Filtered diva vocals, trippy synth lines and a chest thumping bass line all of which builds &amp; builds &amp; builds before dropping into some serious filtered breakdown action. You know when you need to choose your first track to play when taking over from the warmup to announce your arrival? This is it! Primero tips the hat to one of the most well-known Italo disco tracks to ever strike fear into anyone that is thinking of smuggling. Lovingly reworked and given the Black Hawks treatment for maximum dance floor igniting when you need to drop a secret weapon. This one does it all…big stuff indeed!

Hailing from Sydney, Jerk Boy has amassed a credible catalogue of modern Disco music, the contents of which can be huddled together under the umbrella of 'music for good times'. He knows exactly how to move floors and his next single featuring Irfane is case on point.

Best known for his collaborative work with Ed Banger mainstay Breakbot who he toured with extensively - Irfane has also worked with Hudson Mowhake and remains a deeply versatile vocalist. Together the duo lay out 'Something Isn't Right'; a classy cut with an easy, free-flowing energy.

A trim and shifty bass line pops and flexes under a finger snapping snare and sixteenth-note shuffles. The groove is effortless as is gently segues through sections of chordal chimes, vocal refrains and flashes of melodic expression with just enough drive and force to keep the vibe buoyant throughout.

Three years on from his latest solo outing, Crazy P founder member Chris Todd AKA Hot Toddy returns to House of Disco with a predictably fine four-tracker. Our pick of a very strong bunch is the toughened up, revivalist electrofunk flex of "Wilde Touch", where clipped guitar riffs, crunchy Clavinet lines and colourful melodies ride a rubbery bassline, though the Paper Recordings-era Crazy P deep house/disco fusion of "Still We Are" is almost as impressive. Speaking of Crazy P, lead singer Danielle Moore lends her distinctive vocals to the Imagination-ish Brit-boogie business of "Positive Emotion", while the EP's other track, opener "Synthesize", is a darker and more spaced-out chunk of weighty, bassline-driven nu-boogie goodness.
