There is a quiet optimism running through Umarga’s SEEKK EP, even as the drums stay scuffed and the bass keeps its teeth. The title track rides clipped electro percussion and a low, rubbery line, but the synths open like a window, letting in a little dawn air. This mixture of classic vibes and electro's unique vision for the future mark this record out as something a little special.

Capacity tightens the groove into something more skeletal and direct, a drum tool that hums with feeling around the edges. Snappy Snaps finds swagger in negative space, all dry hits and a bass line that wouldn't feel out of place on a Larry Heard record. This track nudges the floor forward without shouting but also without rest. 5loWs is the thick and textured slowdown, the afterglow, chords blooming over a steady pulse that feels almost idm.

Across four cuts, Umarga keeps the pressure high and the arrangement subtle, but never loses sight of small human details. It is dirty, yes, but the dirt catches the light to complete the texture. Out October 24, 2025 on Circuit Grooves.

Spanish producer @jamesrod is an artist who has built up a fantastic discography and the following to go with it over the last few years. A prolific producer he is equally as well renowned for the stunning quality of this work. 

His latest release is a 4 track EP with @paperecordings where he heads off into cosmic disco territory with more than a nod to the Norwegian disco sound. It's a wonderful and powerful EP. Check the premier of the Daco mix of Belong City here and jump over to LV online for a review:

About Disco Chillio
Disco Chillio a Mérida (Spain) based duo formed by Delao and Mopa Downtempo. Two devoted Nudisco selectas and producers.

They are regular hosts and performers in the Cabins of southwestern Spain. Their productions can be found on labels such as Emerald & Doreen Records and Spa In Disco.

Disco Chillio's production methods consist of a wide array of software and hardware, such as 808 drum machines, analog or digital synthesizers. And their sound is best described as spacious disco sound with slow rhythms, combined with heavy basslines and atmospheric melodies.

Cosmic Canchales ep
For the Cosmic Canchales ep the Disco Chillio boys aimed for a less dense, more relaxed sound. The main concept is a journey through the region of Extremadura, as if it were a lost planet in an immeasurable universe...

The track Cosmic Canchales is remixed by fellow spaniard Alex Arcocha. 

Charca Nebulosa is remixed by our Korean sister Shubostar (currently living in Mexico)

And Montanchez is remixed by Silhouette favourite Doctr!

Be on the lookout for Disco Chillio as the explore the musical boundaries and are working on new material inspired by traditional Extremaduran music, featuring 18th century instruments like the "carraca". Cool stuff!!

The dynamic duo of ROTCIV and Das Komplex are back on Luv Shack Records to finish off what they started with the "Magic Silk #1 EP" in 2019. 

Das Komplex' "Jak Mozna Nie Mówic O Pesymizmie" (wich translates to "how can you not speak about pessimism") is boasting with psychedelic effects, polish spoken words and a plethora of funky disco tropes, all cumlinating in a 10 minute super disco jam. 

Hot on the heels come two ROTCIV remixes of Das Komplex' "Silk" from the first Magic Silk EP. The "Electric Dub" is a broken electro workout with a tight industrial beat, lush synth patterns, dubbed out percussions and an array of weird FX. The "Transmix" comes with a driving 4tothefloor groove and an italo-esqe synth bassline at the heart of the mix, while still maintaining the pittoresqe atmosphere of the original with layers of heavily mangled effects. 

On "Space Explore", ROTCIV constructs a complex slow burner, setting up an eerie atmosphere of digital soundbytes, vocal snippets, ghostly strings and fat synth pads on top of a cosmic disco groove. 

Lastly, Das Komplex remixes "Your Highness", adding a classic disco groove with lots of analog percussion, funky guitars and a quirky synth bass-sequence, creating instant euro-disco nostalgia.
