JKriv and Aaron Dae are the duo to thank behind the outstanding label, their hard work has seen them shape the new disco sounds running deep through the underground veins of New York City. They boast an extremely impressive repertoire of artists; Tiger & Woods, Jacques Renault, Dimitri from Paris, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Eli Escobar and disco don’s COEO are just a few of the wealth of talent who have released on the label. You’ll struggle to find a label with a better discography.

Continuing a great start to 2018 the New Yorkers are set to bring out another stomper edits EP from Daniel T.Based in Los Angeles, Daniel regularly hosts ‘Crosseyed & Painless’ on Dublab where you can catch him every 1st and 3rd Wednesday, as well as being one half of Distant Works Records. Since his debut EP back in 2015 he has going from strength-to-strength including an impressive release on Let’s Play House. His latest adventure with Razor-N-Tape is an African-infused disco EP, 4 perfectly produced stompers to get any basement or festival rocking! Today we’re delighted to premiere one of the best tracks on the release “All Day”. The wonky bassline and sweet vocals will viciously ear worm through your head long after you stop listening, complimented by percussion that any African tribe would be proud of. MIMS is delighted to premiere “Come Inside”, the second single lifted from Italian pianist, composer and producer, Nicola Guida’s forthcoming ‘Speleology’ album, due for release early next year on Inner Circle Music, the prestigious US label headed by sax legend Greg Osby. 

“Come Inside” is a laid back exploration of jazz and hip hop, featuring Karnival Kid on MC duties. His nonchalant yet powerful delivery recalls Loyle Carner, and flows beautifully over Guida’s delicate playing, melting the notes of his piano into a seamless harmonic stream. Soothing flutes provide the melodic line throughout, with additional production adding layers of sonic richness.

A disciplined virtuoso and a freethinking, genre-bending pianist, Nicola Guida is a London-based Italian jazz pianist, composer and producer. Academician at heart - he's the author of two respected thesis on jazz and holds a Masters in Philosophy. On “Come Inside”, Nicola tells us "I'm so delighted to release this tune which contains a sample of one of my heroes, legendary Italian composer Piero Piccioni".

“Come Inside” will be released on November 27 on all digital platforms.

Quick recap: this here is Clarence Alexander "Skip" Scarborough. 
Yesterday (26/11) was his birthday in heaven.

Some of you probably never heard of this Grammy Award winning songwriter, but I bet all of you know Bill Withers' evergreen "Lovely Day".
And this man here is responsible for that evergreen.

He also wrote LTD's hit "Love Ballad", Patti Labelle's "It's Alright With Me" and a bunch of songs for my favorite band of all time, Earth Wind & Fire. 
And one of them is the gorgeous "Can't Hide Love".

First recorded by,- these days largely forgotten outfit-, Creative Source, that song took a whole new leash of life in the hands of Maurice White & co, transforming it into a whole new monster; so definite, every recorded version after is indebted to the one EWF put to reel.

So, to honor the man who graced the earth with this gem, I took 15 of those versions (yes, there are more!) and made a 12-and-a-half minute medley out of it, rendering from obscure takes by Perry & Sanlin and Hummingbird to live versions by D'Angelo & Dionne Warwick, not to forget originators like aforementioned Creative Source and, ofcourse, Earth Wind & Fire themselves.
