C. Da afro was raised in the golden era of the 80's. At the age of 13 he started collecting soul, funk & disco 12'' Vinyl, even today his collection still growing!

​He is the co-owner of Athens "Voice radio 102.5" where you'll find him every Saturday at midnight spinning the tunes.

C. Da Afro is a prolific producer and has managed to release many groovy disco and disco house tracks, under different labels such as Midnight Riot, Editorial Records, Chopshop Music, Springbok Records, CR2 records, Sundries, Spincat Records, Hot Digits and many more.

After a swathe of fine releases popping up all over the shop on the likes of Slothboogie, Moiss, Tropical Disco and DOBRO records, I Gemin has made quite a name for himself with his signature shuffling beat laden funk and sample laden house music. Being a huge fan of his work for many years Hot Digits Music label boss Fingerman leapt at the chance to host this excellent producer onto his label with a superb 3 track EP of crisp edit/not edit tracks complete with I Gemin’s trademark bottom heavy b-lines and twisted disco samples. Fingerman also steps in for a chunky remix to seal the deal!

This release has been a long time in the coming thanks to a tenacious bit of digging and sleuthing from @tooslowtodisco's DJ Supermarkt. Coming across a rare private press 7" a few years back which "hits that sweet spot between 80s funk-pop and the disco era’s love of anything galaxy-tinged" he set about tracking down the artists behind the release 'Prime Time Band' so as to bring this delightful track to a wider audience.

Managing to get in touch bandleader Jeff Wollman after years of hunting, they agreed to release the track as part of TSTD 4. Thankfully for all of us they have now taken it one step further and arranged for some of their favourite smooth space approved producers of today to give us their take on the track. The result is a classy mini album of remixes which is now landing on both digital and vinyl featuring mixes from Turbotito, Blank & Jones, Chuggin Edits, Those Guys From Athens, Vibes4YourSoul & HOLDTight
