Suarasama’s first album “Fajar di Atas Awan” was produced by Radio France Internationale (RFI), France (1998). One of the songs from that album, titled “Fajar Di Atas Awan” was compiled on Music of Indonesia 20: Indonesian Guitars (1999), released by Smithsonian Folkways in Washington, D.C. This album was re-released in CD and LP forms by Drag City Records, Chicago, US (2008) and marketed International. In 2014 Drag City give license to Space Records for distribution in Indonesia for the first time. ”Fajar di Atas Awan” was named as one of the Five Best World Music Albums of 2008 by the SF Gate, USA; and also one of the Ten Best World Music Album 2008 by Uncut Magazine London, UK, and Ten Best World Music Album in October 2008 by World Music Global Rhythm magazine, USA. The album has been reviewed by more than 35 magazines, both printed and webzine, in America and Europe, due to Suarasama’s ”World Music” approach that was considered ”new” by several of the World’s music critics. Suarasama has released four music albums so far, “Fajar di Atas Awan” (1998), “Rites Of Passage” (2002), ”Lebah” (2008), and ”Timeline” (2013).
