SEFF brings a party to the New Year with the next release on the mighty Hot Creations in the form of ‘Jack’s Back’ featuring three superior club weapons.

‘Like That’ on the A-side chuggs with electronic synths and powerful raw bass, ‘Jack’s Back’ is a high energy hitter with a jackin’ ghetto vibe and the heavy duty ‘Zoot’ thunders with a Jamaican style vocal. These are compelling, peak time tracks that guarantee to erupt every dancefloor.

Joe Saunders AKA SEFF has made a huge impact with his distinct crossover style of raw, underground house and techno music, retaining attitude, swing, swagger and energy in both his productions and skilfully constructed DJ sets. Since being signed to Steve Lawler’s VIVa MUSiC in 2012, he has gone on to release on many other hugely respected labels, worked with an array of top artists, remixed Dave Seaman on Great Stuff Recordings and also was signed to Dave’s label ‘Selador’. He established Mindmaze Music as a platform to release great music from himself, established artists and new talent and it has rapidly become a favourite of many underground music lovers around the world.

Hot Creations continue to dominate the hearts of dance music, well beyond their 50th release. A platform for the pioneering partnership of Jamie Jones and Lee Foss to share the strongest releases from their musical family and discover prime new talent.

Seff - Like That

The Willers Brothers are relative newcomers to London, having only settled in the capital in 2012. Since then they’ve quickly become an established act on the club circuit and secured a residency at respected Kings Cross hotspot Egg. 

The pair are also promising producers: their latest track, ‘Mind Craft Glasses’ – which we're premiering today – has won plaudits from Marco Carola and former BBC Radio 1 DJ Yousef. 

‘Mind Craft Glasses’ is a dubby, 909-backed, house number that builds up a bassy groove over its six-minutes length. The vocals, which sound like they might have been sampled from a rap battle, add a playful touch to proceedings. 

‘Mind Craft Glasses’ is out via My Favourite Freaks Music.

LUM009: Ecco – “Brain Damage” EP 

Ecco delivers his "Brain Damage" EP with a good old-school vibe found in classic house, so guess what you´ll hear; A thick bass line, saturated vocals and a propulsive drum beat that will get you going throughout the whole record. The second track picks up the pace: Hit me remains another composition full of classic elements. The third track on this EP follows a more melodic pattern. Haste Midi nudges the heavy basses and adds some melodic elements. It´s the kind of tracks that slowly evolves to a soothing breakdown, has a lot of movement and takes you onto a little journey into elsewhere. 
Riven´s interpretation is a bit different to the original and adds some acid towards the breakdown. The "Brain Damage" is a well-balanced release that features three well-produced pieces covering different niches in the sphere of house music.

Matchy & Bott provided a lot of well-known labels, such as Katermukke, Suara, Stil Vor Talent and of course the very successful CONCEPT. Compilation, with their music. But now they rock the new My Favourite Freaks Music 11 with an EP named „Two Minds“. It is a dark and groovy but technoid tech house EP with three tracks.

From the beginning, „Feelin It“ is on point. The catchy bassline runs straight through the whole track and is a guarantor for the groove. Vocal cuts loosen up the beats until the song breaks down to a massive drop, which sends the groove back to your legs. Hands up is assured!

The second track „Lemmy Find Out“ is bit darker and more minimal. Matchy & Bott used next to the very phat and pumpy beats some synthesizer sounds and chord stabs. What is a track without typical vocal phrases, which the producers used in here too. The track is definitely a great tech house tool for DJs, but a must for dance floors.

„Talkin Bout“ is the mellowest track of the EP with a big and boomy basis. Noise sounds mixed with epic synth leads get stuck in your head, but the vibe of the track comes from the weird effect sounds which interact with the beats. This song seems to be more experimental than the rest of the EP, but Matchy & Bott formed the track to be played as a peaktime title for the dancers in a club!

Set to build on Afterlife’s mesmerizing club concept that’s striking visual and musical identity has so far showcased at Off Sonar, ADE and Ibiza for a 13-week residency at Space, brand curator’s Tale Of Us have now added an extra dimension to its forward-thinking offering with a podcast series named ‘Afterlife Voyage’. 

Launching with a rare 2 hrs mix from Tale Of Us themselves, Afterlife Voyage 001 provides a unique insight into the duo’s ‘realm of consciousness’ and features a range of unreleased tracks and upcoming Afterlife releases. With names from the Afterlife record label also confirmed to contribute to this latest musical journey – their names yet to be revealed – the launch of the podcast series further emphasizes Tale Of Us’ growing dominance within the global club scene and reiterates Afterlife’s 360 degree exploration of music and the arts. 

Venturing to London this Friday 11th and Saturday 12th November for its UK debut, Afterlife will then head to in Miami for Art Basel on Saturday 3rd December for an engaging takeover that sees Marcel Dettmann and Recondite join proceedings.

DC175 comes courtesy of Alias, a new project comprising of Harvey & Ryan McKay, who are two acts who have previously released solo material on the label. Harvey McKay’s last appearance was in late 2016 when he dropped ‘The Mad Drummer’ on A-Sides Vol. 4 whereas Ryan McKay’s last outing was in 2015 when he appeared on A-Sides Vol.3 under the name Skiver. This is the first collaborative project between the Scottish duo under their new moniker Alias.

The EP opens with ‘Pentatonic’; A tough sounding track that has been designed for the forward-thinkers. ‘The Truth’ follows up sharply, with vintage piano stabs and a vocal that gives the track abounding energy. The on-point percussion leads you on a trip of pure rapture. The release closes with the apocalyptic ‘Dream Taker’, which is teeming with sinister vocal action, hostile synth work and a sublime way to sign off.

The journey begins in 2018 when two artists from the European techno scene join forces to found Mercury 200.  
Behind their mask hides two musical mercenaries. Without rules or conventions to respect they were mandated to elaborate a raw, sharp and exhilarating music with stirring and puzzling textures in order to apprehend the fundamental relationship between spirit and sound.  
Therefore Mercury 200 must hit the guts and emotionally capture its audience because they will do everything to tame the animosity slumbering in each human being with their machines.  
A quest thereby without boundaries but with for reward -if well executed- an audience that offers them a clue, a path to follow in their research.
