After the overwhelming response to Volume 1 I knew that making Volume 2 was a tough challenge,  so it took a while  to make sure this mix lived up to the success of the first one. Some of the finest moments of my career have been playing Breakbeat. I feel that’s what makes this genre of music so special. I have met some of the most amazing people and experienced incredible highlights in my career. Heavyweight Breaks 2020 is a snapshot of the hottest bass fuelled breaks released over the past 12 months mixed by myself Skool of Thought.

Those of you who have been following me will know I released the first Heavyweight Breaks mix CD on SuperCharged back in 2002. The approach for that mix then is the same now - 10 extremely carefully selected tracks which showcase the very best of the scene. 

The trick for me has always been to select tracks that are bass-heavy without being tear-out and uplifting without being cheesy. 

Naturally, I would like to extend my huge thanks to the heavyweight of breaks  - the producers who featured in this mix.
