Time Wharp’s ‘Cole Dub’ single is taken off his forthcoming eponymous debut album, set for release via Astro Nautico in 12’’ vinyl and digital formats in May.

‘Cole Dub’ inherits the glorious soulful clarity and dancefloor efficiency of New York house. Bold chopped and resampled live drum patterns, warm organ stabs, and mantric vocal hooks provide the single’s rhythmic sediment, with saxophones and walled up synth bliss washing in and out of the stereo field for dynamic effect. Also included are album outtake ‘Tunnel,’ a drums-only ‘Cole Dub’ rhythm track and a remix by Step+Repeat, the debut of a collaboration between Atlanta producer Stefan Ringer (aka REKchampa) & keyboardist Chris Irvin.

@roza-terenzi  is the latest convert to the Kalahari Oyster Cult, the Australian producer debuts with four tracks showcasing her unique sound. Influences come from far and wide, shifting between electro, house, techno and even early rave anthems. The space bleeps of “Gigi” are soon interrupted by shouldering kick drums. Samples stagger and stumble before key stabs cut through beats in this hazy piece of early morning elation. “Mwah” maintains those euphoric moods. Snapping snares slice through shimmering synthwork and soaring strings to keep the night grooving. Darker tones enter with “Rare High”, but these shades are soon brightened by arcing notes. Acid lines squeak and squirm in this balancing act of disparate colours and chords. Distant lands and exotic encounters are conjured for “Soft”, perfumed percussion and meandering melodies mingle and merge for head swimming close of aromatic audio.”

Stars darted past them illuminating the vast expanse of space. The earth seemed so small now; a mere speck. They'd been travelling for a long time but their destination was very close now. As they touched down on the rocky expanse of the moon, they felt a mixture of emotions. Was this the right thing to do? They had wanted to escape and nobody would find them here, that was for sure. It hit them just how far away from home they were. But, there was no turning back now, this was a decision that couldn't retract.

Her tunes are that special blend of banging and emotionally charged that hits the sweet spot - influenced by her classical piano training background, an upbringing in the impenetrable rainforest basin of Vanvcouver, and her time spent DJing Berlin, performing alongside legends like Prosumer, DVS1, Daniel Bell, The Black Madonna, Steffi, and others. Now one of our favs drops her sophomore release on your favorite label: The 5-track mini-album “Sleeping In Shapes' moves through the gamut of Braue’s moody, eerily tough sonic palette. Micro flourishes emerge through the moody haze snaring you into the vibe. Release opener “Gravy Train” clangs like the best of them, swirling pads ensconce a looping vocal and full frontal 4/4/ thump, before jumping deep into the motorik motors & square bass throwback of “Spiral”. “Robot Arms” veers into more leftfield territory, from there we float off-world with the lush embrace of “Succulent” before breaking entirely free of any constraints of Earthly gravity on closing track “The Rattle”. Throughout all these pieces, the work contains elements of aquatic downtempo bordering the fringes of Chicago house, a dance party in a dreamscape setting. Good news! Pacific Rhythm is once again connecting game with one of Toronto's most promising young duos, Active Surplus. Active Surplus is the collaborative project from Evan Vincent (AKA Emissive) and Ian Syrett, who also appear on this past winter's fourth volume of Rhythms Of The Pacific.

Their new self-titled EP is their love letter to the house music sound that first sprouted from the West Coast. It's laid-back, groovy and touched with lovely instrumentation, like the plucked strings on "Meera," a heartfelt tribute to a loved one. "Meera" and the billowing groove of "Ambrosia" might remind you of early Pacific Rhythm releases, with dainty arrangements and chords that waft across the rhythm section.

But Active Surplus put their own spin on things. The EP was heavily inspired by the stuttering drum patterns of Baltimore club, which undergird each track in subtle but noticeable ways, making the grooves that much skippier and slippier. "Yeye" calls to mind the feeling of early Walt J material and delivers a devastating earworm that will stick with you long after the lights have come on at the end of a late night Dance Opportunity, while the looped woodwinds and cool-blue keyboards offer a sweet melodic hook on the irresistible "One Beyond." There's a confident, naturalistic quality to these rippling grooves and silky sounds, which the duo credit to an obsession with water. After all, in their words, "we might not live by the ocean, but we're all H20 on the inside."

Earth Boys aka Julian Duron and Michael Sherburn pay homage to the West coast on this LP starting in Northern California with thick, swirling opening track ‘Sonoma’ - a stripped back, sultry dubby number with just enough pace. Blending pool-side sax with steely percussion and vocals drenched in the day’s last golden moments. Sugary ‘I Just Love It With You’ is a loved-up house cut blooming with warmth - one to serenade your lover, friend, dog with. On the flip, ‘Mushroom Cloud’ takes the b-side into trippier, groovy territory. Float away on the cloud, through shimmery pads, exotic percussion and classic vox lines. Understated ‘Amazon Prime Jungle’ is a sleepy, dreamy jungle roller that delivers on all fronts. More sax laced, beach-front feels come courtesy of title track ‘Earth Tones’, an easy going, lush sundowner to soothe your soul. C2 ‘Battery Boys’ is a real beauty, keys tinkle against the amazonian backdrop in this nature inspired number. ‘On A Limb’ is a ‘softly, softly’ track - electronics tickle a 4/4 beat on this real nice cut - DJ tool tip! Rounding off the LP, ‘Los Angeles’ is a rich, smooth jazzy house number. Two digital only bonuses just make this thick honey house music long play even sweeter.

Martin Jenkins, more commonly known as the artist Pye Corner Audio, epitomizes Lapsus' commitment to cutting edge sound experimentation. In 2017, he beguiled the electronic music community by releasing the 'Where Things Are Hollow' EP, on Lapsus Records. Now we are delighted to announce the release of ‘Where Things Are Hollow 2’, consisting of three brand new original cuts and a breath-taking remix from none other than John Talabot.

'Where Things Are Hollow 2' explores a spectral and hypnagogic terrain, establishing an electronic sound that at times invokes Jenkins’ more dance friendly facet -'Self Synchronize', 'Weather The Storm'– while also offering his familiar iridescent dreamlike ambient textures –'Phase B'– that featured prominently on his first EP.

This second EP also includes a remix from John Talabot, unquestionably one of Spain’s most internationally recognised names over the last decade, who exquisitely reimagines 'Resist' -a song from the first EP-, transforming it into a cross between EBM and hypnotic techno.

From a graphic design perspective, renowned artists Alex Trochut and Basora have once again collaborated on this project, repeating the formula that made the artwork for "Where Things Are Hollow" such a collector's item.

Ijsbrand & Gert had always wanted to create balkan inspired music, and hence came the duo Stavroz. Beyond just sharing the same musical tastes, these two buddies bond over both being sound engineers (live for Ijs, studio for Gert), which makes them real "goldsmiths" behind each and every production (such can be seen in this short clip which presents their title 'The Ginning'). 
Their music is imprinted with original inspirations while keeping to a jazzy/burlesque influence, leaving little to be left displeased. The bridge, so it seems, borderlines between minimal and jazz-house.

The first title of the EP, 'The Ginning' is constructed around guitarist, Max Honckelinx. The track’s instrumental harmony is skilfully constructed by the duo as they borderline minimal and deep house.

The second original title of the EP, 'The Finishing' is merely a dialogue between a rhythmic stratospheric universe and the sax of Nathan Daems, well preserved from the first studio recording. The end result leaves us with 8 minutes of lyricism soaked in sophistication and technicality.

In regards to the remixes, Felkon, who has been presented several times before on the Délicieuse, takes on 'The Ginning' by including vocals which create a more dance-like ambiance. 
Britta Arnold, a legendary pioneer from Bar 25 and Katerholzig, worked on 'The Ginning' as well with Sascha Cawa. They delivered a version more obscure yet wickedly effective.

As for the remixes of 'The Finishing', Powel continues to captivate us while executing his deep and melancholic twists. He entirely redesigns the piece’s structure by retiring the "voice" of the sax. 
And then there’s our man, Viken Arman, who spins his version of 'The Finishing' by refiguring the rhythm pattern and adding a new dimension to the bass.
