Bunte Kuh steamroll their way into release number fifteen courtesy of Swiss duo ?! and their ‘Amid Precious Era EP. The package is topped off two stellar reworks from Basti Grub and Active Void.
Up first is ‘Horizon Of Truth’, a dark and moody chugger dominated by warped melodic flurries, rolling hats and a punchy kick to throw you right in at the deep end. ‘Defined Step’ follows with a richer more intricate groove in place carried along by a looped vocal and reverb soaked pads.
‘Enlightened Awakening’ welcomes more clever vocal work throughout the break creating the perfect tension before yet more warehouse worthy percussion take centre stage. The last of the original works comes from the title track, combining warped melodies around a punchy house foundation in fine form.
Basti Grub’s take on ‘Defined Step’ shines a ray of colour with a jazzy selection of chords amongst the instantly recognisable Basti beats whilst Active Void rounds off the collection with a synth heavy progressive take of ‘Artificial Satisfaction’.
