Afrolicious has been on a tear in 2013, founding their own label (Afrolicious Music), releasing their debut album (California Dreaming) and touring relentlessly while leaving audiences in awe of one of the most energetic live shows anywhere. Their new single, “Pleasure Time” is a dance floor anthem that celebrates the moments when music brings us together and lets us forget our daily troubles. The vocals and lyrics are written by the enigmatic Freshislife, the native Trinidad and Tobago troubadour whose collaborations with band leader and multiinstrumentalist Pleasuremaker grace nearly half of the tracks on the full length California Dreaming album. “Pleasure Time” brings together the diverse styles that make Afrolicious unique, the duel Afrobeat guitars, polyrhythmic percussion, funky horn riffs, tropical vocal flavor and the driving disco-house drums. For this single 
release Peruvian electronic maestros Novalima have delivered a scorching remix, re-interpreting the horn lines and providing arsenal for DJs and dancers around the globe to continue the pleasure long into the early morning. Also included on this release is the instrumental and the 2012 EP version, “Pleasure Time” is being released on October 15th
on Afrolicious Music.

‘Majella’ again captures the essence of Italo-Disco with an 8-bit electronica feel, rich synth lines full of depth play off each other, constructing delicate melodic intricacies in the arrangement. A simple yet fitting sturdy 4/4 drum pattern runs throughout allowing ample room for the euphonious elements to take the limelight. The Italian duo apply various production techniques to the sequences such as warbling tremolos, heavy choruses and filter sweeps fabricating a blossoming edginess on the track.

Dentro de esta vorágine de enfrentamientos territoriales, sudaderas estampadas y gafas de diseño, rodeados de esta asquerosa moda de lo “fresco”, los bastardos de El Vaticano vuelven al centro de la diana con un conjunto de temas grabados en el mítico psicoestudio sevillano en el año 2006. Este conjunto de canciones supone el final de una etapa, pues el colectivo sevillano ha trasladado definitivamente su centro de operaciones a Cutdown Junkies, el proyecto antipersonal de Rich Mendigo, también conocido como Dj Je Main. Este último, junto a S Curro, aún con resaca de su aclamado Bipolar y un recuperado Papa Wilson que vuelve como Loquillo, nos presentan los últimos 5 temas que se grabaron en el desaparecido Vaticano. 5 temas que rompen con la tónica general de los últimos lanzamientos aparecidos en la capital hispalense, con un estilo más seco que un tampax en el coño de tu madre la menopáusica. 

Este pequeño-gran misil puede tomarse como un adelanto de “Distorsión”, el próximo trabajo de S Curro, aunque seguramente nuestro carismático crooner decadente simplemente pretende despistarnos con la evolución en el apartado musical que supone este accesible Bei-Ping Mafia. Con un revolucionario diseño del polaco-andaluz prozacandbusiness, el CD estará disponible para su descarga en la recién inaugurada web: WWW.SCURRO.COM elaborada por Fish Bambú Ultraone de Mogra Adobe Warriors. La mezcla ha sido realizada por Papa Wilson con la ayuda de Chimo F.D. y el mastering corre a cargo de José Maldonado, técnico de Raimundo Amador y Narco. Desde Rottenbrain Musick esperamos que sufráis o disfrutéis estos 5 momentos de lucidez y que vayáis haciendo estómago para lo que viene, que sin lugar a dudas no dejará a ningún hijo de la gran puta en su sitio.

BEI-PING MAFIA es uno más entre los múltiples proyectos de la hiperactiva mente de S CURRO, a quien otros conocerán por ser el cantante de los grupos de rap metal Narco y Falso Dogma, o bien por su otra faceta como pinchadiscos, pero que ya lleva tiempo en la escena rap estatal con numerosas apariciones en maquetas y recopilatorios, y cuyo disco “Bipolar” se colocó en las listas de mejores discos del 2007 en varios medios. Habrán leído su nombre en numerosas ocasiones, si no como S Curro, bajo sus otros pseudónimos: Lunes, Distorsión Morales, Skeletor Selektor,…

Como decimos, BEI-PING MAFIA es uno de tantos proyectos. Concretamente se trata de un disco que engendraron entre S Curro (letras, voz), Papa Wilson (sonido y música) y Dj Je Main (turntablism) hace ya varios años, pero que no había sido publicado hasta ahora. En directo además, se les une Maromo Diyei, que sustituye a Je Main en el escenario, y deja a éste las labores de sonido.

Juntos ofrecen un show que se sale totalmente de la norma de grupos de rap en nuestra península. Algo que a algunos refresca y a otros desconcierta (y puede que a algún que otro purista incordie), pero que sea como sea, impacta.

Con éste disco (que parecía que iba a ser sólo una pequeña muestra de lo que preparan  estos inquietos personajes para el futuro), se han colocado como una de las grandes promesas musicales del estado, despuntando en certámenes tan prestigiosos como el Festimad Taste ’09 (1er Premio) o el Lagarto de Jaén (2º Premio).

Joseph Watt's Razormaid! edit of this song (taken from Chapter 7 - The Record Pool) was always my favorite because of how it has a great intro for mixing in, an amazing outro for exiting and how the energy flows so well throughout. Unfortunately, I was never able to locate a good digital copy - at least not one that I could find. So, I decided to construct my own using the original as a template and the Extended Version from the Bill Sharpe, "Famous People" CD as my source. I added a clean drums-only 32 count intro (8 measures) just to make it my own. Otherwise, it's spot on. Enjoy!
