Much less lyric-based than most of my pop songs, In This World transmits a straightforward message about reaching out to other people, even those you don't know. When I wrote the words and recorded the song in 2010 with Nicolas and Arno, I felt it was too naive. In these chaotic times, the simplicity of its message seems particularly relevant. Much more now than in 2010.

Waves is about difficult life moments.  How can we ease the pain? There is a refrain during the course of the song where I repeat this in an almost silent plea.  The song captures the feeling of time moving at a different speed in these moments of sorrow and tenderness when the mind freezes.  A numbness infused with a fierce stillness and a fierce love.
