Waves is about difficult life moments.  How can we ease the pain? There is a refrain during the course of the song where I repeat this in an almost silent plea.  The song captures the feeling of time moving at a different speed in these moments of sorrow and tenderness when the mind freezes.  A numbness infused with a fierce stillness and a fierce love.

Gary sent over his backing before Santa loaded up the sleigh and D and I worked independently at first then bounced some ideas around. Gary meanwhile worked his magic with layer upon layer of synth and some really cool bass. D soars and flies magnificently.
