About this journey :
Oh the lovely Hawaiian guitar melodies, lazy languishing slide guitars, dubby reverbs and echoey female voices, quirky sounds and unexpected breaks into traditional Polynesian songs, hypnotic tribal drumming and light headed disco airs… As intoxicating as a tropical cocktail, these elements of summer charmed and lifted my spirit.
I’m gifting them all to you here in this playful psychedelic mix.
It kicks off with the enchanting, freshly released, dub version of Pretty Boy, a track by TIGER ON THE MOON, a band led by performer and producer Louie My, in which I have the pleasure to play synth. As the mix progresses things get increasingly dancy until it lands softly on my favorite slow track of the year: Sim Sim Sim by SIMPLE SYMMETRY (featuring Abrao).

Listening is recommended in the sun, preferably with friends or future friends!

About Tamara :
Like Marc Bolan’s Cosmic Dancer, in all likelihood, Tamara came out of the womb dancing. With older brothers in garage bands, the walls of household shook all through the 80’s.  
Later, her amorous relationships were based on shared passion for music. That’s how she was introduced to the miracle of late 20th century music and its Kaleidoscopic diversity, from Sati to Flaming Lips, Neil Young to Kraftwerk and Funkadelic to Sphongle.
Much later, stranded on some Caribbean Island and weary of Reggaeton, she finally put all that musical influence to good use and cut her teeth as a DJ on the island’s beach gatherings and Full Moon parties. Her sets are an unexpected combination of electronic, psychedelic and bouncy cuts, infused with every genre from funk, to ethnic folk, rock and disco.
She also plays synthesizer and sings backs in husband’s project Tiger On The Moon. From the womb to the tomb is how she describes her dedication in making people open there hearts and DANCE!

The days are getting shorter and darker and slowly the pace of life is shifting. Just like the leaves of the trees we let go of summer. @soso-klein captured the change of the season from sparkling summer to tranquil fall beautifully in her Mbuki Mvuki Mix. Just like autumn: dark - but with colorful tones.

For Soso Klein, music is a medium of communication as strong as - or even greater than - speaking. The very first DJ-set she played was for her little sister who was in hospital. Soso Klein couldn’t visit her and her sister couldn’t use her phone. Soso Klein could only ‘contact’ her by making music. Feeling this power of music she realized that mixing would become a fundamental practice for her.  

For the love of downtempo music, Soso Klein passionately left her hometown in France to move to Berlin. In the rich downtempo scene she settled down and you can find her playing in numerous clubs and events there. Make sure to find out what she has to say on the dance floor if you are there! Luckily for us, we are able to listen to this beautiful mbuki mvuki story wherever on earth we are. Sit back, take it slow and enjoy!
