About the mix: The mix was recorded on the 5th of October 2024 in Berlin, at our queer day-time party called Apero Club at Crack Bellmer. Apero Club is a co-run event between the collectives Pillow Princess and What a Playground. It is a laid-back, community-driven queer event. We start during the day with open decks and as we ease into the night our invited artists take over to set the mood within the spectrum of house sounds. 

Our mix rounds across the spectrum of progressive house and trance. It is a b2b between Kidcat and Broccoli, the two co-founders of pillow princess. We regularly play together, and the mix you will hear here is a collection of records we've been gathering from shops across Europe. We usually shop and share our sounds, so mixing them together was extremely fun as we could smoothly create a journey together through progressive soundscapes.

We launch into 2025 with a new mix series, exploring sonic journeys crafted by our community of artists.

The first offering comes from DJ / ethereal mermaid, Aquamarine, who has conjured a soundscape filled with seductive, psychedelic energy. Exploring deep, low-frequency textures, she starts out submerged in an underwater dream world, quickly plunging into driving deep techno, with glimpses of tripped-out dub, before spiralling into exhilarating psy trance. Each chapter of the journey is punctuated with punchy techno rhythms, building momentum towards a delirious euphoric dream. 

Aquamarine (she/her) is a US-born, London-based DJ whose sound is rooted in an exploration of flow states, the psychedelic experience, and dancefloor hypnosis. With recent appearances including Riposte, Body Movements, Corsica Studios, and Dalston Superstore, she is making waves throughout London and beyond. She is the founder of Wet Dreamz, a rave dedicated to FLINTA* artists and audiences with a focus on underwater world building and aquatic euphoria through progressive soundscapes.

A fragment from a larger set, Ramtarr was captured in that fragile moment when the light fades and sound begins to take over everything. Everything settles slowly, and tension weaves itself between impatience and surrender, a suspended instant where the audience and the music are still learning to recognize one another. A living matter, fluid and vibrant, born from sharing and from the fall of night. The first part of the set leans toward an electronic energy, between dense textures and physical pulses. Slowly, trance emerges, gliding in like a slow tide until it wraps the space in a hypnotic warmth.
