Most other musicians, when they've been working for over half a century, are resting on their laurels, basking in the warm glow of their heritage, accepting the odd Lifetime Achievement Award, playing the odd Greatest Hits tour and concentrating on shifting their back catalogue. But Sparks are not most other musicians. They are utterly unique.

Levels of interest in the work of Sparks - brothers Ron and Russell Mael - are at heights unsurpassed in their 50+ year career, with the ultimate cult band now centre stage in the full beam of the spotlight.

Now into their sixth decade of making music, Sparks have never been more relevant.

Carlos Yee aka Al Yee was born  in Mexico City . Since he was a child, music was an important part of his life. Starting with playing a Casio piano  at the age of 12  , he discovered electronic sounds and started to collect music from punk to Dub to Trip & Hip Hop and of course house + acid, latin & caribbean music.  Exploring  artists like The Clash, Suicide , Joys Division , Peace Orchestra , Public Enemy ,  Kerry Chandler  & Fudge Fingas , Max Graef , Toto la Momposina, Tobala Orchestra just to mention a few.

House music & Funk Rhythms is his new passion

A crucial moment was  to mix music.  So gathered together with  some friends  and bought  a pair of CD players and a Mixer, so everything was ready to start mixing. He started to blend mixes with Techno, House, Funk and Balearic and the first bookings resulted in different venues of Puerto Vallarta, California and Mexico City. 

His Journey  developed and he played in  bars-clubs like El Solar bar, Bar Americas PV , El Dorado PV, Son Pax PV few other  gigs In California at RE:Solution in  L.A. , LILLY POND SC followed of bookings in Mexico City (ICDMX), With Casa Disco.  

in 2012 he is part of Colectivo Fast Forward and formed a Label with Funk + Forward in 2014 . They organise events  In Puerto Vallarta at different venues and Sayulita  Festival, in Nayarit , Mexico.

  Personal matters made Al Yee move back to Mexico City where he is fro originally. He has currently work for other  disciplines in arts and performance. All of those experiences from Dj to making events to work with other artist as an audiophille has made him aware of other paths to see different &  create music   with passion and love...
