I've started posting a few tracks that feature isolated instruments on previously uploaded songs, just for fun. On this one, I've done a bit of a short remix to highlight the nasty harmonica solo at the end of one of my fave songs I collaborated on with the charming & talented Eclectic Collective gang. It was the first time I'd tried playing that style with the heavy echo/reverb effect, and I was surprised how it turned out.

As a producer when I was asked to mix and produces this track.. I thought 'Hell Yeah', hadn't heard it for decades..... had no idea it had been used for just about everything over the that few years...

Brand New Key

This is an old song written around 2001 when I was a very unhappy bachelor! It was 3 years before I met the love of my life and I guess I was a victim of love!  I was trying to write a Pop Punk Rock song, similar to The Cars of the 80's & 90's. I think I failed, what else is new!! 😣 This was recorded on an old TASCAM 8-track recorder and it sounds very tinny and not very well mixed. I was going to re-record it now with my new equipment but I'm just too behind in other projects to record everything over again, so what you hear, is what you get! Written and recorded around the same time as "Beautiful Blonde" and "That's Between Me and You", as a matter of fact I found this one while I was doing the video for "Beautiful Blonde". Everything is me on this one, including vocals (please forgive) but in a weird quirky way, I kind of like it, it could be a hit, if it was recorded and sung properly. I edited it down a bit, took off about 1 minute and added some new audio special effects here and there. This song is totally about nothing and made up in the studio. Just a guy telling himself he's NOT a victim of love when in fact he very much IS a victim of love! The irony is delicious!😂

The video is brand new, I just finished it last month and it's better than the song itself, in my opinion! There are some comic bits in the video since it's a very light hearted song.
