“Chalk Dust Dreams” is Vera’s story told through distortion and silence and from her younger self voice. What begins as a fragile reflection on her youth and love for rock culture slowly mutates into a darker confession — the sudden weight of teaching, the anger at a life that slipped away, and the cigarettes burned in place of dreams. Yet, beneath all the bitterness, there’s a reluctant tenderness toward her students — Coco, Cleo, and the rest of Running in the 60’s — the fragments of light she didn’t expect to care for.

It’s a grunge-driven ballad of frustration, regret, and the fragile hope that maybe purpose can be found in unexpected places.

Cigarette ash in an empty can,
