For Record Store Day 2014, Medical Records presents two exclusive releases celebrating the classic disco of 1980s Italy. The second release is a very special compilation of very rare and sought after A + B sides (plus 2 more hand-selected tracks) of 3 Italo Disco iconic 12” singles that were originally released on the legendary Fuzz Dance label (a sublabel of Materiali Sonori). This is volume 2 of Medical Records’ Electroconvulsive Therapy series which celebrates rare singles in the synth/wave/disco genre. The first single needs no introduction to lovers of disco. Trophy “Slow Flight” (vocal + instrumental versions) was released in 1982. A very hard-hitting percussive track with very interesting production that is quite gritty yet smooth with it’s vocoded vocals and synth melodies. The second single which is probably the most rare is Zed “Plastic Love” vocal + instrumental versions that were released in 1983. Sultry female vocals and pulsing electro sequences make these two versions absolutely essential. The original single is commonly bought and sold in triple digits so both A + B sides were included here. Clocking in at the third position on both sides are the vocal and instrumental versions of “Hesitation” by Mya & The Mirror which is a production by Alexander Robotnick (Maurizio Dami) with female vocals. Also included as bonus tracks at the end of side A and B are Mon Bijou’s “Just a Lover” and Naif Orchestra’s “Check Out Five”. Both are unstoppably catchy and were released on Fuzz Dance as well in 1984. For fans of classic and the synthy side of Italo Disco (i.e. Casco, Sun La Shan, Amin Peck, etc). Remasterd by Mino Cavallo with additional mastering and restoration by Martin Bowes at the Cage, UK. Presented on high-quality 180gram striped “Italian Flag” colored vinyl. Limited Edition.

With an emphasis on DIY and keeping the interest of the listeners at heart, Aunt Gleam puts together synthesizer based music in order to quench his own creative thirst, and to, by chance, have someone else appreciate his creative efforts. Tuxedo Gleam is an electronic project which made its first release in 2010 with songs that were written a year prior by the musician Aunt Gleam. The songs are inspired partly by the scores of films Aunt watched as a child in the 80’s, and fueled by the inability to visualize a satisfying life without a musical outlet. He began writing electronic music after becoming intrigued by the endless possibilities that synthesizers have to offer. Tuxedo Gleam performed his first live shows in 2012 as a solo act, then in 2013 was joined by like-minded artist AM Radio and went on to release an LP consisting of new songs entitled “Darkened Corners”. Now that the duo has put together a solid live set, they are looking forward to continuing doing shows and reaching more people.

"Forgive Me" will also be remixed by 3 fantastic electronic artist.  Person:A and L'Avenir (both on Cold Beats) and Tifaret (DKA Records).  In addition, I've remixed a track by Person:A and the comp also showcases new music and remixed from Person:A, Knifesex, Cold Hell, and Kall Hall.

Gouts de luxe etait composé de Marianna kliska et de Jacques le Honsec.

Issu de la scene bretonne, Jacques et le groupe , alors formé avec d’autres membres, quitte sa Bretagne natale pour s’installer à Paris, seule solution à l’epoque pour pouvoir esperer sortir du No man’s land musical que constituait la region.

Cela sera fatal au groupe qui sera desormais un duo apres un an de recherche de label.

C’est un jeune producteur , Dominique Dubois qui mettra le groupe à l’etrier apres que celui ci eut illustré les defilés haute couture Chanel de Karl Lagerfeld qui fut, en fait, le premier é les remarquer.

De la scene Noisy goth du bout du monde, le groupe evolue en studio pour passer des comptines cybernetiques à une suite de singles teintés de Bahaus,, de Depeche Mode et d’influences noires diverses . Le succes rencontré par leur premier single fut un réel accident , propulsant le groupe dans les spheres du sacro saint Top 50.

Gouts de luxe ne s’en relevera pas.
