Liuos first fell out of solution in the early 90´s, when the dream of a one-man band materialized as an Amiga 500. Various genres and outboard gear came and went, along the way to spare experimental techno. After restrictive hardware equipment came software synths and computer based sequencing, and a move into the possibilities in the developing genre of dub techno. The elegantly unfolding chords accompanied by infectious hooks and phrases, is a feature that is always refreshing and meditative in movement. Engulfed in lavish chords and ornate in emotive melodies Liuos production is distinctive and personalized.

The Mood Series is quickly presenting itself as one of the most landmark collections in dub techno history. And while the search continues to scour the lands for the finest in techno, it's amazing to think we are up to our 71st release in the portfolio. This edition features Schulz Audio who is making his 3rd appearance with us. 'Short of Stable' is a lush and 4 track beauty that will get a limited vinyl dubplate and a digital release. 'Quazar' is a breezy opener that rides a crest of reverberating chords that shimmer over an organic rhythm section. The aquatic sanctuary feel is real! 'Sundaze' brings a sound reminiscent of classic Cologne styled dub techno while pushing the sounds further closer to the island roots of the genre. The way the chords seem to fade out over the beats near the end is a brilliant touch. Super smooth! The title track is another floaty let your cares drift away type of a beauty. This one is so entrancing you nearly forget there is a beat going on. Subliminally soothing and a heady masterpiece of the healing effects dub can have on the mind and body. Schulz Audio completes the EP with some serious summer chords in 'Juxtaposition'. Overall, a magical and tranquil vibe surrounds these tracks with pure production class from Schulz Audio. Not sure if Balearic dub techno is a subgenre yet but this release has us grabbing our beach chairs and a bag of ice set to enjoy these calming and beautiful vibes of this soundtrack.

Much of this establishment looked suspicious. Starting from the bartender, who often went to the kitchen, ending with a terrible message on the wall. Spacelunch and Cat are here to run Aquagrut's errands. This key quest should help them attract a powerful ally. A complimentary dish from the chef exuded a pungent but inviting scent.

– Psst… Maybe you shouldn’t gorge on food like that?
– I understand that your sense of smell is stronger than that of humans, but why these pointless fears? I'm absolutely starving!
– I think I smell a setup.

The professor's eyes flickered, his head seemed to be squeezed by a hoop, and a cosmic roar sounded in his ears. It seemed that the trap had worked unexpectedly quickly, even for the organizers themselves.

– Doc, get up! Time to get out of here!
– Three hundred and twenty-eight point three ten-i-i-i-th...

The limp body slid to the floor in delirium. The thugs who burst in caught them by surprise near the exit, so there was nowhere to run. Adrenaline went off the scale, making it difficult to keep calm and make the only right decision. Now it was all or nothing at all.

LHR 10 - Lazare Hoche & Malin Génie - Formes EP

Crustation were a short-lived trip-hop group with ties to Portishead and Massive Attack; their 1997 single "Flame" was a perfectly nice, totally innocuous, and mostly forgettable contribution to the drowsy downbeat catalog. The journeymen producers Mood II Swing put their characteristically light, funky touch on a club-friendly remix of the song, as they did hundreds of times during their run as New York's most dependable remixers. But Mood II Swing also had a murkier, more abstracted side; you can hear it in productions like "Move Me," "The Slippery Track," and the eerie "Inhale," which sounds like Gary Numan's "Cars" being sucked through a Teflon wormhole. But they outdid themselves on the "Borderline Insanity Dub" of "Flame," lacing a skipping, proto-U.K.-garage beat with hiccupping vocal loops and a lithe, shadowboxing bass line; the icing on the cake comes courtesy of a swirling fog of vocal harmonies that pans from speaker to speaker. Running out of phase with the beat, it lends a sense of tidal ebb-and-flow, throwing the time deliriously out of joint. The fact that Mood II Swing never produced anything else quite like it only makes this fluid, enveloping tune all the more irreplaceable. P.S.

Plugging in another flash disk, the professor dived into the endless labyrinths of mind. Moving through the foggy streets of Chinatown, he scrutinized even the most insignificant details. Once in a narrow alleyway, a lamppost came into view, on which there was glued, among many others, an old advertisement: "Implement an idea into an individual's mind through dreaming." Spacelunch disconnected from the neural processor that same moment and cried: "This is it!" Now they knew exactly what to do next.

We keep the global sound alive with Episode 31 on Poisonoise Music, this time coming all the way from Beirut in Lebanon courtesy of my friend Hady Bouserhal aka Konn8.
Hady has been involved in music from a young age and like most of us, found himself bitten by the Electronic Music bug along the way!        Nowadays he usually spins Progressive and Deep House but it’s his love of Dub Techno which finds him here.   
Hady has delivered a really beautiful spaced out set here, all very subtle, deep and rich sounding.
A welcome addition indeed….

Bio:

In 1987 Hady aka Konn8 was born in Beirut. All throughout the 90’s, spent his time listening to cassette tapes that belonged to his father, and these included the likes of Robert Miles, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Buddha Bar, and Enigma amongst others. Day by day the love for music grew while spending time collecting cassettes and eventually owning his first computer to record his own collection of personal favorites using simple software and programs. Fast forward to 2007 where Hady starts university, during these times Trance music had taken over the scene in the city. Every weekend, Hady spent his time attending music events and festivals and eventually buying his first Pioneer DJ set. The year 2008 was a tipping point in Hady’s music taste where in one night he visited Beirut’s renowned club called Basement which was famous for its underground music as well as live sets, to weekly international DJ roster.
At that time Hady decided to focus more on learning Traktor and diving completely into underground music genres. End of 2017 Konn8 was featured on Frisky Radio, and ever since things became more serious in terms of delivering stories rather than just mix sets.

Spacelunch (short. spclnch) is a Dutch electronic music label with an emphasis on the dub sound founded in Minsk in 2019 by Thomas Carmody (@thomascarmody). The key ethical principles are an individual approach and a careful selection which allows you to get the best possible from the communication with artists.

The concept of releases is dedicated to a fantastic multimedia universe. The space adventures of Spacelunch and Cat unfold in episodes of an interactive musical comic. Each of them has an original script, and they are connected by a consistent storyline.
