After giving out the lunch soup to prisoners, the day shift of the warders left the checkpoint. In the agonizing silence, one could only find comfort in watching an ant crawling on a damp wall and overcoming obstacles in the form of crumbling paint cracks. It is difficult to say when Spacelunch managed to make a friend — this hardworking insect who could not comprehend what constantly exhausted and tormented the professor's mind while awaiting trial.

The bed springs, digging into the back, disturbed one’s rest and annoyed with their squeaky noise, which was suddenly interrupted by the hiss of molten metal. The prison bars were literally cut by a directed thermal shock. Thousands of degrees oozed out from the blade-sharp claws.

— Cat?! How on earth did you end up here?
— No time to explain, my friend. Melvin is already waiting for us at the main terminal. Run!

Maybe these truly dedicated professionals could be able to get away with it, but behind each new test lies a huge risk. This time the stakes were higher than ever.

re:fraction – Absence Of Resistances [snippet]

Beginning in 2000, I started making music. Initially, I created hip-hop tracks using jazz and classical music samples. From 2006, I began listening to reggae music, which inspired me to create dub music alongside hip-hop. During this time, I also started DJing, focusing on reggae and dub music.

In 2010, I was introduced to electronic music. Initially, I was drawn to filthy dubstep tracks, but I later developed an interest in house and techno music.

In 2013, I founded Nextapes, an electronic music event series in Miskolc, Hungary. These events have featured top Hungarian DJs such as Jay Lumen, Budai, Gaga, Peter Makto, Metha, and more.

In addition to DJing and organizing events, I also produce my own music. Since 2012, I have created many remixes. My first official release was published in 2016.

Since the 2020s, I have started to focus on dub-influenced electronic music. In 2023, I became part of Phonoda Records, marking a new chapter in my music career.

Spacelunch (short. spclnch) is a Dutch electronic music label with an emphasis on the dub sound founded in Minsk in 2019 by Thomas Carmody (@thomascarmody). The key ethical principles are an individual approach and a careful selection which allows you to get the best possible from the communication with artists.

The concept of releases is dedicated to a fantastic multimedia universe. The space adventures of Spacelunch and Cat unfold in episodes of an interactive musical comic. Each of them has an original script, and they are connected by a consistent storyline.
