House Sessions

Seeing as we haven't done a podcast since March I thought I'd put together some of my favourite tracks from this summer in a mega 3.5 hour summer compilation mix.  Perfect for celebrating the heat wave we should hopefully be having for the rest of August in London :)

Its my usual blend of dub techno, deep house, ambient, dubstep, I have been very lucky to be gifted with a few promo vinyls over the last few months so was nice to play these on my system.

I had such a headache getting this mix recorded.  I think it took over 1 week.  First few times I forgot to plug in my usb soundcard and ended up not recording anything!  2 other times i was recording and thought it was getting read in audacity but turned out it was just recording through my laptop microphone ><.  It has been the most stressful podcast i have recorded haha.  Also my laptop battery only lasts for 2 hours, so I have to stop half way through the mix and recharge the battery to continue the recording, hence why you can probably hear slight pitch changes in the mix -_-.

Hopefully its come out ok, there's a lot of good music in here, I hope you enjoy the journey.

It spun round and round, a myriad of possibilities and lifestyle choices built upon it, each as seemingly important as the last but of no greater meaning within the context of space. This was life on earth and it meant so very much to each individual and so very little to the greater good. This tiny planet simply floated against a deep dark backdrop in which wild stars danced, the sun shone brightly and the cosmos ushered in new dawns every day. For now it was all they had...

Arkajo is back - this one is a feisty, bass ready affair which features two unique tracks and two killer remixes from Forest Drive West and Ebende respectively. Ebende's remix is a fast and furious club driven track, a deep house bonanza pitched upwards and destined for the faster floors.

Wading through the tall grass he kept his eyes fixed on where his feet might fall. This was a dangerous kind of place for people like him and it should not be underestimated how much trouble he might find himself amidst if there was a hot step placed in the wrong position. He'd been wandering out here for a long, long time - lost and alone he was a man from a bygone age, a psycho trooper who'd been left behind. The sun beamed down on him from up above and the heat was electric. 

Ivan Conti Mamao is something of a legend amidst certain circles, the Azymuth drummer remains one of the greatest and most influential. Now the newly launched Brazillian record label Troop have announced an EP with reworked versions by Fred P, Ney Faustini and more. It's Ney Faustini's track which caught our ear with a deep cut for the discerning dancefloor.

The author of the systematic exploration of patterns needs no introduction. As a result of the transgressive approach, biotechnologies are available to all members of the network environment. The development of the audio simulator has a distinctive encoding, and also allows the combination of virtual and real devices, which are used to replicate complex sound architectures. Hibernation, cryoson, suspended animation — all shades of grey — are compactly arranged in the root directory of the file system.

There’s a quiet confidence to Apolinic’s “Sense Of” – the kind that doesn’t raise its voice, yet draws you closer with every bar. Built on a steady pulse and subtle tension, it unfolds with intention: clean percussion, glowing textures, and just enough modulation to keep the air slightly electric.

Time feels gently stretched – suspended between thought and instinct. This is minimalism with restraint, balance, and a quiet sense of motion beneath the surface. A fitting start for Saraw’s debut vinyl – refined, focused, and unmistakably human.

Premiere: Apolinic – Sense Of [SRWV001]

Symbiotical Records presents “Far Away” — a five-track release from French producer Dust Yard, offering a measured and introspective take on deep minimalism.

The title track “Far Away” begins the journey with a meditative framework: soft pads, pulsating low-end, and a harmonic drift that feels suspended in time. It evolves at its own pace, drawing the listener into its orbit with quiet certainty and gravitational stillness.

“Higher” follows with a warm, fluid groove. The rhythm is steady and subtly accented, allowing analog textures and micro-elements to breathe in unison. There’s spaciousness in the mix, a natural clarity that lets emotional undertones rise organically.

Ki.Mi. offers a refined reinterpretation of “Higher”, bringing architectural precision to its warm undercurrent. The remix expands the original’s depth, layering morphing tones and nuanced shifts in momentum. It’s an immersive reconstruction — composed, restrained, quietly dynamic.

“Sunrise” brings a change in mood: brighter, more melodic, yet still grounded. The phrasing appears with care, as if tracing the edge of something just beginning. It’s music for transitional hours, not fully awake, not entirely asleep.

Closing the EP is Tm Shuffle’s version of “Sunrise”, leaning into dubby resonance and echoic space. Here, elements blur and dissolve, reframing the original into something more expansive. A final exhale that hovers in the air.

Dust Yard delivers a focused, emotionally weighted record — subtle in structure, deliberate in motion, and rich in atmosphere. These are pieces that open slowly, revealing their presence in silence as much as in sound.

Ben Weber is a self-proclaimed sound-anarchist. Catchy melodies embedded in well-structured arrangements and airy beats define his sound.   His influences stem from his youth where he was mesmerised by punk, metal and wave. Ben´s sound has been proven over and over again with recent Beatport Top 100's as well as support from some of the industries biggest artists like: Marco Carola, Laurent Garnier, Maceo Plex, Coyu, Oliver Koletzki,  Luciano, Dubfire & many more.... 
His wonderful debut EP on Parquet Recordings named "The Glade" was released in April 2016.

"It was one of my highlights at Burning Man 2016 
when i had the chance to play at the White Ocean Camp again....
During my set i saw a lot of people joining us started dancing some with closed eyes
and a lot of hugs were going around...
The sound was even better than the year before and i couldn't believe that my set time was almost over when someone came and told me that i have 10 minutes left, ...

Where and how was the mix recorded? (AUS)

The mix was recorded here in sunny Bristol at my home studio, using cdjs, a 1210, my old mixer and a eventide space pedal. the version used ended up being take three as i felt the first two didn’t progress as i wanted. the mix has some old, new and exclusives. I wanted to play some bits that I love, re-found or have been working on, stuff i wouldn’t usually play in clubs although i do play some of that. I’ve really got into big textures, chugging drums and big heavy bass of late, I come from a Dubstep & D&B background so my tracks always have some nice low end. (Komon)

You've been working with Will for many years now, there seems to be a good synergy between the two of you when you're in the studio. Obviously you're coming from a different background (in terms of production) to Will, does that help when you're working together? (AUS)

Definitely, We both work off each other really. like we get into a vibe before we start a session, Play some tracks or ideas to each other and it kinda goes from there. We merged our kit so we share the studio space, its been set up so we can both jam and use fx or patch stuff into what ever we like. We have the same taste in sounds and a lot of styles of music. so jamming really flows and we can get a lot of material written in a short space of time. I tend to mix as we go, so we pretty much have the audio sounding as we want when recording. I do tweak whilst Will is away but thats just removing frequencies and tidying things up. We tend to write lots of parts for all our tracks and then we reduce them down to the final product, Will has a very good ear for this. After all this time working together we are yet to have a formula or set way we start something. We have quite a bit of kit between us and its nice to learn each piece, were still working things out. What other releases have you got lined up this year? (AUS)

Im just getting some things finished after having a pretty bad car accident where i seriously injured my spine. its been a long process getting back to full health but I’m pretty much there and ready to focus on music again. I have a remix for a new Label called Boogie Box, I think that one is due for release pretty soon. Will and I pretty much have another ep wrapped up and I’m almost there with a solo ep for Aus. Long term I’m working on an album but its early days so nothing set in stone. (Komon)

Spacelunch (short. spclnch) is a Dutch electronic music label with an emphasis on the dub sound founded in Minsk in 2019 by Thomas Carmody (@thomascarmody). The key ethical principles are an individual approach and a careful selection which allows you to get the best possible from the communication with artists.

The concept of releases is dedicated to a fantastic multimedia universe. The space adventures of Spacelunch and Cat unfold in episodes of an interactive musical comic. Each of them has an original script, and they are connected by a consistent storyline.
