Agyei Marshall is a multi-instrumentalist and producer living in the Pacific Northwest. Some of his works include ‘Summer Nitezzz’ by ToX!c, ‘Liberation’ EP by Adebisi, and Jessica Manalo’s ‘Magic’ EP. Two songs of which, ‘Magic’ and 'Silence', were featured on Barack Obama’s 2021 Summer Playlist.

Trumpeter Farnell Newton is one of the most versatile musicians & educators in the Northwest, playing straight ahead jazz, smooth jazz, Latin music, soul, hip hop, funk and more.

Born of a medley of high energy, supremely talented artists – Speaker Minds is creeping on a come back. Speaker Minds have been consistently blazing microphones and stages throughout the Northwest, solidifying themselves as a highly sought, crowd rockin’ hip hop band with a style that has built a reputation for having even the sleepiest of crowds on their feet not long after their set has began.


Speaker Minds has appeared on a myriad of stages and at numerous events; The Festival of Positivity, Alberta Street Fair, Wild Goose West (Corvallis), Umoja Festival (Seattle), EcoPalooza, Fire in the Canyon, Seattle Hempfest, PO-HOP 12, and headlined at PDX Pop Now!, Speaker Minds has showed up and showed out! While the bank could be considered still in their career infancy, they’ve already toured through several states including Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana and Utah; They’ve had the privilege of playing shows with Hip Hop legends that include KRS-One, The Pharcyde, Del the Funky Homosapien, Gift of Gab, Dead Prez, Freeway and Jake One, The Coup, Black Milk, Masta Ace, Wordsworth, Lyrics Born, and Anthony B. In Portland, a city known for its indisputably talented local music scene with mega stars, Speaker Minds has graced the stage with solidified local music royalty including Cool Nutz, The Chicharones, Farnell Newton, Doo Doo Funk All-Stars, Hanif, and many more. 


Speaker Minds is set to release their brand new album Titled “Gumbo Grooves”, which features keys by the world famous Tony Ozier and is being released through Farnell Newton's and Tony Ozier’s label, FNBeatsGalore Records in conjunction with Ropeadope Records. The highly anticipated “Gumbo Grooves” will release on January 8th, 2016. 


Portland native Randal Wyatt (lead vocals) established himself as a socially aware and charitable emcee before creating Speaker Minds. He has opened for rap legends such as Slick Rick, Goodie Mob, LMNO and Kev Brown, and The Beatnuts. When he wasn’t touring the West coast and Midwest, he was helping pioneer many notable Hip Hop oriented charity events in his city, as well as mentoring and providing opportunity for aspiring youth. Adrian Adel (lead vocals) is a powerhouse singer bringing more than 20 years experience of soul stirring skills, singing with legendary local bands including Hungry Mob with Mic Crenshaw and Fatman with JR Pella. She is a true soul singing sister that will ignite a fire in your soul. By way of Boston, Josh "Shredder" Johnson (guitar) is also an established songwriter and musician who has played in some of Portland’s most iconic bands, including All The Dead Horses, Paper Cameras and Hungry Mob, Dissident 27 and Adair Village Crew and legendary Tommy TuTone. DLUX the Light / Desmond (Keyboard) is a highly trained Pianist who is also an established emcee, spoken word artist and high school teacher who is also one of the active members of Portland’s Youth Summit. Juan McGruder, (back up vocals) is a Music graduate of Arts Magnet High School and a former DJ on Oregon's largest jazz radio station (KMHD). Rob Jamieson (drums) is a highly experienced drummer from Baltimore, and has shared his gift in many bands leading up to Speaker Minds. When he isn’t providing percussion for audiences, he is helping shape the minds of youth through teaching and coaching. Jon McGuire (Bass) hails from Salt Lake City and describes himself as young, hungry and filled with love of the funk.

J Ross Parrelli is what it would sound like if Joss Stone had been raised in the same duplex as Notorious B.I.G. Recently signed to Universal Records, J Ross Parrelli’s repertoire includes rap battles and festival stages from the Bronx to the Bay. Sultry songstress turned community cultivator, Parrelli has spoken and performed at youth leadership conferences all over the globe. Her interest in education reform led her to co-found Beats, Lyrics, Leaders through which she is developing Hip Hop based curriculum now being piloted in schools, foster youth programs, and native reservations.

Portland-born, DR has evolved from the confines of a basement, to some of Portland’s most sought after stages, and more. DR’s soulful sounds and energetic beats deliver an atmosphere that enraptures the audience in the dirtiest of musical revivals.

Led by the soulful vocals of Ms. Sarah Clarke and enhanced by verses from MC evv'n'flo, DR has emerged on the Pacific Northwest music scene with passion and flare. The unique ensemble intermingles classic and original tracks with a resounding presence, no matter how big or small the venue.

The dynamic, five-piece soul-meets-hip-hop outfit shines on stage, and defines influences from funk- and soul-infused icons of the past. DR has shared the stages with George Clinton and P-Funk, The Motet, and hip hop legends such as Sit Mix-A-lot, Slick Rick, Nappy Roots and Gift of Gab, and have several Pacific Northwest tours already under their belt. Thanks to their successfully funded Kickstarter, the gang has spent the first part of 2015 recording their first full length project.
