https://soundcloud.com/thediscofries kickoff 2014 with a genre-bending EP. "Murika" manages to span several different styles with progressive, hardstyle builds and some vicious electro drops. A version of "Murika" was offered as a giveaway back in early 2013 but has been re-swizzled into a 3 track EP. The release includes a remixed version of the single by https://soundcloud.com/tommiesunshine & https://soundcloud.com/livecityofficial, as well as a new track titled "Crank This" alongside fellow Liftoff Recordings artist, https://soundcloud.com/aylen.

With a modulated vocoded synth and nasty bassline, the lead single makes enough clever use of almost every type of genre in the game to become an early 2014 anthem. Frequent collaborator Tommie Sunshine (one half of Fries & Shine) and Liftoff artists Live City come together to provide a pulsating, electro barn-stormer taking "Murika" in a different direction whilst never losing the core sound that makes it so addictive.

On the b-side, the Disco Fries team up with Aylen to produce "Crank This," a multifaceted, electro-stomping original with a growling bass line and trap breakdown. The track contains a funky maze of bouncy percussion, sirens and vocal samples that build into a menacing, bone-shaking drop. The hype that this track delivers is something that it is abundantly clear the Disco Fries and Aylen have no shortage of.

Created in the underground den of despair, and inequity, with a Gateway computer, fruityloops and an AKG414 mic these two made some serious magic starting in 2006, with their early releases they preceded to inundate Beatport with tons of #1 hits. Their Juno nominated,track"Afterhours" was number one for several months back in 2007. 

Now in 2014, we bring you some updated takes on this classic tune by some of the biggest in the business! First up is Italian maestro, Federico Scavo who delivers a house remix for the ages, carefully utilizing the sublime Spanciassi Italian vocals. On the flip are Plastik Funk Duo with their big room, peak time electro house rendition that takes no prisoners! Lastly, closing out the package is the rising stars, Vanilla Ace & dharkfunkh who turn in a deeper cut that will no doubt find favour on the 'cooler' dancefloors.

This is huge!

This was the first track completed for Drive. We wrote it in my Manchester studio over 4 rainy days and it's been a feature in both of our sets since then as a long standing ID. 

Interestingly, it was originally written as the backing track for a vocal. We tried a lot of different singers, but eventually arrived at the conclusion that it was best left alone (or best left to DJs to add their own!).
