At the heart of Belgium's nightlife lies Edge. An electronic music concept that has invigorated Antwerp's club scene. Conceptualized in 2013 by Eran Aviner and Dave Schamisso, Edge has played host to the world's finest electronic music talent in John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Lee Burridge, Kiasmos and more. As a DJ and artist, Eran remains one of Belgium's most cutting edge talents, having his music showcased on world class imprints including Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records. Now after months of anticipation, Edge unveils their flagship record label with a brand new EP from Navar alongside a remix from Guy J. 

As one of the underground's most creative talents Navar has shaped a sound of his own. His soulful qualities and organic design have led to signings on Guy J's Lost & Found Records and Canadian behemoth microCastle. A sparse release schedule has only made the love for his sound stronger and his Edge debut all the more anticipated. Leading the release off is its title and showcase piece 'The Legacy'. Built around a free flowing melodic storyboard, Navar works tonal motifs and warm swells with haunting atmospherics and harmonic refrains. Emotive and timeless in equal measure, it makes for an enchanting eight minute journey, sitting as one of the Dutch artist’s most accomplished works to date. One where he reached a new sonic space and looked forward into the future. As he describes, "'The Legacy' is made out of particles, formed in creative bursts, that led to a road of luck and belief, presenting a bright prospect for the future, a road where no one else but you can create your destiny."

The lone interpretation of 'The Legacy' is provided by Guy J. Regarded as one of electronic music's most emotive producers; the Israeli born, Malta based artist has found a home on John Digweed's Bedrock Records, while cultivating his own Lost & Found Records into one of the world's most elite imprints. A long history with Edge has seen Guy headline four events in the last three years and now in fine fashion he has a hand in launching the label with a superb rendition of 'The Legacy'. On a backbone of organic beats, dusty percussion and quirky electronics, runs a storyboard of daring, detuned melodies. Astral in design and oh so poignant, it's a fresh, out of the box production from one of electronic music's most creative minds.

A stunning debut for Edge's flagship imprint and with a bevy of interesting projects in the pipeline this certainly bodes for an exciting future amongst the industry's elite.

Coming up next on Opendecks Records we present new music from the great Argentinean artist Dario Arcas. With releases on labels such as Sudbeat & Mango Alley, he makes his second appearance on the label, delivering a huge EP with 3 originals and top remixes from Fefo, Kamilo Sanclemente, Ariel Lander & Oosfera, & SBL (Struck by lightning). 

Some of the tracks like "24hs in paradise" original mix and Kamilo Sanclemente remix had received early feedback from the “Maestro” Hernan Cattaneo, on his Resident radio show and on his recent Ministry Of Sound promotional mix.

First release in Univack Records for Kamilo Sanclemente (The Soundgarden / Mango Alley), one of the most respected colombian artist worldwide. Two original tracks with stellar basslines and chords progressions ("Yavin" and "Lesath"), that evoque beautiful distant planets landscapes. 

Integral Bread (Univack / Future Form) and Sebastian Busto (Sudbeat / Replug) are the gold remixers in this spanish acccent release number 60 of Univack. Both producers get sure that their personal imprint can be found in each remix. Integral Bread making a more tech/dark interpretation in his Yavin remix, and Sebastian Busto delivering a more uplifting and organic remix for Lesath.

Kamilo Sanclemente - Lesath (Sebastian Busto Remix)

Alongside Be One, his last EP on Endangered, Brian Cid has had a plethora of releases already this year, with originals on Lost & Found and Flying Circus, and remixes on Oddity & Einmusika.  The music has been flowing for Brian during this challenging time in the world, and We Will Rise is one of his most powerful releases in recent memory.  There are two distinct sides to this EP, one of descending and the other of emerging, which seems to reflect both the world’s current climate, and a sense of hope for the future.  

“Fiesta del Chivo” starts things off with dark & driving tribal rhythms, reminiscent of a ritualistic fire taking place in a futuristic jungle.  The track is based on the novel The Feast of the Goat by Mario Vargas Llosa, and carries a political connotation that reflects the recent changes in human consciousness.  The title track “We Will Rise” follows, and while still submerged in Brian’s signature dark melodic techno, there is a sense of being uplifted after this track is complete.  The second half of the EP switches gears to a more progressive vibe, and your trip has officially begun with “Confessions Of The Red Rattlesnake”.  A rock solid groove, combined with jedi-level production techniques give you a feeling of a distorted reality, and will have you floating throughout this one.  The tribal-style rhythms return in “Mil Mentiras Y La Verdad” (A Thousand Lies and the Truth), but this time in a different way given the progressive nature of the track.  Tension builds throughout, the journey of the EP starts to end, and this track is a fitting way to emerge with a sense of purpose.

Ever philosophical, and using this current time in the world to self-reflect, Brian gives his thoughts behind the music with a positive mindset:  “My soul dives boundless into the abyss as the world continues to resonate in distorted ways. It turns out I am experiencing the illusion of chaos while being deeply invested in the understanding that the moon shines brighter at the cusp of the night. Without an inch of doubt, we will rise. We always do because it is, in many ways, the true essence of the human experience. Otherworldly messages speak about the existence of the perfect order behind all chaos and repeated patterns of evidence have supported this throughout the history of humankind and beyond. We will rise as the sun rises after furious storms. And we will rise limitless and fearlessly as one. This wordless story embodies sequences of rhythms of ancient order. Expressed in pure and sincere forms through a powerful and exuberant sound. Dramatic by nature because, if you had just only one chance to clap, how loud would it be?”
