I came to electronic music in the 90's with Drum And Bass parties of Geneva's squats but when I discovered the mix of breaks, reefs and basses of the Nu Skool Breaks it has been a revelation.
The style literally swallowed me and I started VJing with producers like Downpressor, Bengston, Be & See and the Ritmic label, F and our party on Thursdays, Freq Nasty, Longman... and so many more.
Damn. I use to love those years. The sounds stays!

Lime Sorbet is back. Volume 3 brings more unreleased tracks by top-notch artists from the Freestyle scene worldwide. If you call it NuFunk, Ghetto Funk, Breakbeats or whatever, be sure that it’s funky. Compilation 1 & 2 were top- sellers at the most important online music stores all over the world. The man behind Lime Sorbet, Quincy Jointz serves another great mixture from downbeats to uplifting grooves and this time on his label home, Timewarp Music. Quincy´s „Lime Sorbet show“ in the past was always a show of different music styles. The compilations are in the same mood.

Lime Sorbet vol.3 kicks off with a fresh remix of Quincy Jointz himself. He reworked a song by the James Beige to a funky theme: “How´d it start” a perfect groovy tune to start a cool DJ-set. Basement Freaks is a big player in the nufunk scene and appears with a fresh new funky tune with a big groove in his unique style. The list goes on with groovy downbeats spiced by strong soulful vocals with Natural Born Groovers and their song “What is all About”. Following tune from DeRiguer´s “Give it to me Nice up” is another great example for groovy downbeats, followed by another fresh Quincy Jointz tune “Monsterjam”. German-based jazz.k.lipa also created a funky monster jam song titled “Summer Groove” with vocals by thefirstlostgirl. Greek top-artist Timewarp inc Combines serious funky beats with the amazing ragga-vocals from Ragga Twins. A sure shot in every DJ-set. Hungarian musicians are involved in the compilation Mustbeat Crew teamed up with spoken MC for US for a mellow Hip Hop tune “Be Cool”. CMC & Silenta the top-producer-team from Freiburg/Germany shows their soulful side, very catchy and groovy song “This Sound”. Next the funky but with a big flavor of skanking Jamaican feeling by Johnny Pluse is coming next with “The Sunshine Skunk”. mSdoS rises up the tempo with “Upright” a great fresh 4-to-the-floor tune. The compilation continues with the good old days sound of groove & downbeat style and the so-called sound of Vienna with Dubble D “Thud”. Swiss artist Banderas contributes with an unreleased Astrolab remix of his tune “Vera”. Brazilian dj and producer Trotter on a untypical slow jam, “Six to Fix”. Quincy himself created a disco-housy tune called “Another Day” catchy, hypnotic & groovy. Followed by his remix of Michael DeVellis “Funky Edwardian” inspired by 80’s Disco and Electro but down in his unique style. Lime Sorbet 3 closes with Florida-based Stereo 77 “Apollo-Dub”, a latin-infected dubby downbeat song which is a perfect closing tune for this compilation.

Downpressors debut release has already caused quite a stir with CDRs floating around and DJ-chart appearances throughout the world. After the atmospheric breakdown it builds and builds causing mayhem on the floor! Fastforward to 2014 and 'Dont Smoke Da Reefa' has been flipped on its head and given the remix treatment by the man himself along with Specimen A, and is becoming one of the hottest Bass tunes of the year. 

Featuring the phenomenal vocals from one of the UK's hottest MC's and KISS FM's newest radio personality Majestic.  His bars sit perfectly over the heart stopping, ass dropping bass.

Danny Brown's "Smokin & Drinkin" first appeared on his critically-acclaimed album Old as the debauched peak of Side B, and has since become a staple of his live shows and a true fan favorite. So it's only right that Danny's anthem (produced by Fool's Gold captain A-Trak and JMIKE) gets a summer single of its own on July 22nd 2014, complete with remixes from some of electronic music's biggest names and wildest upstarts. 

Boys Noize strikes first with a frantic blend of breakbeats and rave stabs, while FG newcomer TroyBoi turns in a technicolor trap masterpiece. Jack Beats slow "Smokin" down to a late-night acid house stomp, and Jersey club king DJ Sliink closes the party with a heavy dose of basement bass. The whole package comes wrapped in appropriately psychedelic cover art from Detroit's own underground comics hero, Motorbooty creator Mark Dancey, and will be available on limited edition picture disc vinyl from Fool's Gold later this year.

Where's trap music without UGK? A lot of today's EDM fanatics couldn't care less about the pairing of the late great Pimp C and his brother in beats Bun B... but MiM0SA does.

Armed with a harddrive stocked with sonic sketches, Tigran Mimosa set off for Houston determined to track down the remaining member of UGK, and craft what would become the lead single for Future Trill Vol 2, the successor to the original collection he introduced last year, forthcoming on his own False Idol Musik.

A nod to the Port Arthur, TX sound that gave rise to the trap music movement, this straight-ahead banger reinvigorates the old rap roots that have rusted into disrepair.

The man loves his history, and gives credit where credit is due, which is great sign not only for the album, not only for its producer, but also for the scene as a whole.

Respect your roots.
