Advent – A coming, or an arrival, a coming into being or use. 

Quite an appropriate name for Cisco Ferreira, a man who has played a big part in the creation and development of Techno from the very beginning of this genre’s history. Indeed, his Techno CV is the stuff of legend. Cisco was producing Techno and performing live Techno shows years before the rest of the world had even heard of the genre. He released his first track in 1988, was a pioneer of the Live PA (or Live Public Address – performing Techno live in front of an audience using electronic music gear), and, if all that wasn’t enough, he even worked as the sound engineer on some of Derrick May’s, Adonis & Fingers Inc’s recording sessions! 

The list goes on, and so does Cisco. Unlike other Techno pioneers from the early years, Cisco continues to produce with as much passion and frequency as he did back in the day. His releases on Labels Like Tresor, Rotation, Electrix, Kanzleramt, Dj Gigolos, Pure Plastic, Synewave plus many more is just another example of his ongoing pursuit to keep making music and pushing Techno to new boundaries. 

Cisco was born to Portuguese parents on the island of Madeira (Portugal). His family moved to London (1975) when he was five years old, setting the stage for his musical career. While at Paddington College (1986) in West London, he studied sound engineering and secured a job after graduation as an assistant sound engineer at ZOLOU Then later WALL Studios.  

At this period is when he really started to learn about Sound & Production, his 1st main recording sessions as an engineer were rock & “Inde” based bands & the studio owners being in successful rock bands. Matt Dangerfield & John Payne “ASIA” this 1st step was a start in learning about balancing & mixing down the rock way, which had a lot of intense & Raw energy especially on drums & Guitars.. 

Other bands Cisco did sessions for: P.I.L. (John Lydon - sex pistols) – Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) – That petrol emotion. Then Later Pop, Dance, Soul & reggae groups like: Wild Bunch (Nelly hopper & Massive Attack) – Marco Pirroni (Adam & the ants) - Maxi Priest – Sly Dunbar (Sly & Robbie) – Loose Ends – Cheryl Lynn… 

1987 Cisco began going to clubs and learning about this new thing called Acid House, which was spreading like crazy throughout London’s underground scene, culminating in the famous “Summer of Love” in 1988, the genre’s golden period. 

Around this time, a record label called, Jack Trax, “One of the 1st to release Acid House, House & techno in UK” moved in next door and began using the same studio for recording sessions, with Cisco as the engineer working with Fingers Inc, Adonis, Marshall Jefferson & Derrick May. Cisco released his first record in 1988 on Ferrari records (R&S records) Then later “Cisco Ferreira” EP on Fragile. 

His first big break came in 1994, when he and fellow Londonite Colin McBean (a.k.a. Mr. G) were brought on by Internal Records to help co-produce a group called Salt Tank. A record contract with Internal/FFRR soon followed, committing The Advent to 12 EP’s and 3 albums.

Today, The Advent goes on just as Cisco Ferreira. While he has had a long history with tons of accomplishments to hang his hat on, he continues to make history. The Advent is fulfilling Cisco’s vision as much as ever. He is busy touring as both a DJ and a live performer, producing for numerous labels, and running his own Techno imprint, Kombination Research. 

As Cisco moves forward, striving to fulfill the ambitious goals he has set one can look back at his storied past and see how he has come full circle… The Saga continues.

Argentine-born, Barcelona-based producer Martin Cozar returns to Kiosk ID with his four-tracker ‘My Mind.’ Building on the funky modernism of Resilience—his split EP with Gespona—and a commanding peak-time remix for Manucho’s Idea Reset, Martin Cozar now steps fully into the spotlight with a solo EP that tightens his artistic identity. My Mind delivers razor-sharp groove work, stripped futurism, and a captivating brand of dancefloor energy that shines through inventiveness and viscerality.

Opening track ‘1977’ unfolds like a widescreen dreamscape, with suspended fields of synths arcing over a warmly booming, long-tailed sub-bass. Heaving synth sweeps, melodically intricate arpeggios, and fluttering square waves paint a morphing, hypnotic canvas that floats across the periphery. Deeply meditative, but suited for the almost-peak-time with a throbbing groove and dynamic sub-bass, 1977 is a slow-burning journey that wraps warmly arcing, spaced out melodics around a tight rhythmic core.

‘My Mind’ turns the focus to the floor. Funky and razor-sharp in its sophisticated modernity with stripped-to-the-bone drum structures, the title track channels Martin Cozar’s retro-futurist edge through ominously
squelching basslines and pulsing stabs, arranged in a spacious, expertly crafted, and darkly oscillating Indie Dance framework. Every element clicks into place, yielding a high-voltage groove that radiates raw, physical
energy: stripped-down machine funk with a dark, circuit-bent twist.

With ‘Niksen,’ Martin Cozar crafts an eclectic groover that cycles effortlessly through percussive moods. Crackling with icy atmospherics one moment and sweltering in hazy Western guitars the next, Niksen traverses shifting textures anchored in a stripped lead theme that transforms the tracks’ dynamic soundscapes into pure dancefloor class.

Closing cut ‘Lights Out’ dives into grungier, more tactile territory. Shuffling, blown-out acoustic drums and mangled guitars collide with a peevish lead synth that escalates through morphing iterations, finally exploding into bursts of erupting electricity. Raw and groove-heavy, Lights Out channels untethered energy into a gritty, kinetic framework—tech’n’roll with a beautifully organic feel.

Across ‘My Mind,’ Martin Cozar delivers four distinct tracks—each a self-contained microcosm of motion across gritty floor energy, razor-sharp Indie Dance, and booming after-hour rollers. The result is a hypnotic,
meticulously engineered suite that feels both instinctive and deliberate, and succeeds in walking the fine line between the physical and cerebral demands of the dancefloor.

Thirty Years on the Dancefloor, Still Chasing the Next High

Everything started in the early ’90s, under the strobe lights of Sala 2 at the legendary Number One in Rovato— the "venue of the impossible." There, Ivan B was hit hard by the raw, transgressive energy and pounding rhythms that would shape his entire path through underground sound. Fast forward to 2007: driven by the urge to channel that same euphoria, he made his DJ debut at Cantiere Delirio, an renowned DIY space in Milan’s underground scene.

Since then, he’s left his mark on iconic venues like Bolgia and Rocket, while also throwing underground parties where he played double duty as both DJ and organizer. In 2018, he joined forces with ODD (Organization Daylight Dancing), finding in Masada a space that fully resonates with his identity. His network extends beyond borders too—collaborating with Hoover and MicroMusic Lisbon in Portugal.

A natural-born raver with a deep respect for sound, Ivan B is always chasing new sonic connections. His sets are layered with stories and flashbacks, shaped by three decades on dancefloors across the globe. Expect the unexpected: electro, Italo disco, techno—all reimagined through analog synths, hypnotic pulses, and melodic hooks. It’s not just a DJ set—it’s a two-way exchange of energy with the crowd, every time.

Rachel Raw is a DJ and producer based in Cologne, Germany. Her sound falls into the realms of dark minimal and psy techno. It is characterized by deep and punchy beats—a distinctive combination of minimal and groovy 'dirty' techno.

Rachel began her own record label, Jaw Dropping Records, in January 2019. As she progressed, she achieved rapid success with releases on labels such as Stil vor Talent, Jannowitz Records, Desert Hearts Black, and Yoshitoshi Recordings.

Rachel Raw's music can be heard in clubs throughout Germany, and she has already made her mark at venues like Sisyphos, Ritter Butzke (both in Berlin), as well as Waagenbau (Hamburg). Since 2022, she has been a resident DJ at the Wednesday event at KitKat Club Berlin: Symbiotikka and at Reineke Fuchs in Cologne.

Internationally, she has completed an Australian tour in 2020, a Guatemala tour in 2022 & 2024, an India Tour in 2024 and played gigs in Honduras, Costa Rica, Greece, Switzerland, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
