About the EP:
Despite their polarising musical and geographical insularities, Tokyo based WRACK and Berlin based Max Dahlhaus have joined force to put out their first collaborative EP 'No Hiraeth' on Absurd TRAX, weaving the rather melodic and beat based sound by WRACK into the textured layers of brutalist and scrappy sound designs by Max – in turn transforms into a collection of club tools that underpins their musical geniuses while sonically transcending them to the ends of sound spectrum that neither artists have ventured until this synergistic artistry exchange.  

The EP receives remixes by the Moscow based artist Summer of Haze, who produced a rave approach on 'Serendipity', and Nerve from Hong Kong, who takes the already noisy elements of 'No Hiraeth' and catapults everything onto a different level of distortion.

What was your inspiration for this mix
current events in my life! this mix was my way of expressing the rumblings happening inside me.  the mood board included quotes by federico garcia-lorca, a photo i found online that read “the pleasures of melancholy” and this list of words: Acceleration, Desire, De:Presion, Rumores, Sexo, Ansiedad, Whispers, Hyper Fixation, Ensoñación, Angustia, Destruction, Fantasy, Secrets, Addiction, Warp, Fragilidad, Placer, Lagrimas, Crujir, Siniestro, Fuego, Destello, Penas, Re:Nacer, Expulsar.  

Favorite DJs of all time:
some of my faves include: precolumbian, dj sueño, cqqchifruit, dj secuaz, dj chi-c, kelman duran, zutzut, merca bae, dj lizz, and hello kitty!

in: surfing the web, walking, drinking iced coffee at the rave, unironic graphic hoodies, hombres que resuelven! the aldi finds aisle, going out for lunch, confrontation, saying good morning to strangers

Advice to the new upcoming DJs:
my mantra is: “start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.” if you ever feel lost or frustrated just ask yourself: “why do i dj?” and “who am i doing this for?” your answers should help reignite you. if you’re playing a set and you notice that only a few people are dancing or there aren’t many people in the space, don’t panic! that doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. focus on the people who are there and are engaging! you’re a performer baby, give them a show! 

What's next for you in 2024?
a solo birthday trip! i need to visit puerto rico! it’s calling my first, middle and last name. i’m also working on new original music, new poems, and some exciting projects are in the works with Agua de Rosas and Radio Perris. lo demás está por escribirse…

Este proyecto es un diario de mis emociones más oscuras, pena, culpa, tristeza, furia y dolor, la indulgencia en el caos y el sentimiento de perdición inminente, un vacío que pudre y corroe, un compendio con las partes más sombrías en mi interior y como dejar de escapar de ellas, aceptarlas entre la distorsión, la crudeza y las percusiones como parte de lo que soy y quizás tu también.

En este proyecto tuve la oportunidad de colaborar en un par de tracks con 2 artistas increíbles, Santa Niña y VENVSDAD quienes en su música y en los sentires que comunica me puedo encontrar personalmente. con Santa Niña en Huesos de Serpiente y VENVSDAD en Solo Ruinas Quedan.
