Irgendwo zwischen idealistischem Größenwahn, (nicht mehr ganz) jugendlicher Melancholie und Erinnerung erkunden diese als Power-Balladen getarnten Indie-Schlager – wie man die Songs jener Dekade liebevoll nennen könnte – den zeitlichen Zwischenraum von nicht mehr und noch nicht ganz. Und das in einer Weise, die bei allem vermeintlich intellektuellen Pathos, den sprachlichen Umwegen und schrammeligen Gitarren nicht vergisst, dass man eben was draus machen musste. Denn an den losen Bruchstellen von Jugend und Krise und den darauf folgenden Übungen in Vergänglichkeit, die jeder kennt, der sich an die eigenen Irrungen und Wirrungen erinnert, an diesen Bruchstellen flimmert noch etwas nach. Darüber muss noch gesprochen werden.

Damit sind die großen Themen halbwegs klar umrissen: es geht um Identität, um die eigene Erinnerung an die Sorglosigkeit von früher und um deren Orte, denn in dieser »Gegend ist alles schön, solange nicht irgendwer versucht, von außen auf uns drauf zu sehen«. Das Ende dieses Rückblicks auf die vermeintlichen Anfänge allerdings stimmt doch versöhnlich und betont, dass sich in jedem Ende ein (anderer) Anfang verbirgt, dass den Träumen und Hoffnungen ebenso wie den Enttäuschungen des Lebens ganz wie von selbst immer neue folgen werden. Schließlich ahnt derjenige, der gerade 30 geworden ist, dass er bereits vorsichtig auf die 40 zugeht. Wer sich aber in Vergänglichkeit übt, so lehren uns Lichte, den kann dieser Gedanke keineswegs schrecken, weil Zeitpunkte ohnehin nur Punkte bleiben und etwas sich »verändert/ alles verändert sich/ dem Morgen graut nicht vor aller Tage Abend.«
