40 years ago I wrote a song called Alien for a band I was in called Reflex. It was basically about a gang of us going to see the film Alien at the local fleapit in Stamford, Lincs (The Central) and obviously we were all under age seeing as it was an X-rated film. In the grand tradition of sequels I've taken the riff from the verse of the original and added a bit of 60s bubblegum for the chorus while the lyrics reflect back to the original as well as wondering what some of the gang are up to nowadays.

Hey You! (Alien 2)

S.I.G. originally formed in 1985 in Stamford, Lincs and consisted of Carole Smith  (vocals), Dale Farrow (guitar and vocals), Danny Goode (drums) and  Andrew Zamorski (bass) playing predominantly original material written by Dale with the odd cover thrown in. Although short lived, the mix of punky/gothy/dreampoppy/twangy songs with both female and male lead vocals has always been Dale’s “thing” musically and during the last couple of years he has resurrected some of the original material along with material written in the interim right up to brand new stuff and as well as the songs the band name has also been resurrected although Dale is the only original member involved. 

Currently S.I.G. is a studio-based project with Dale working closely alongside Del Bartle (The Sid Presley Experience, The Unholy Trinity, Citizens of Nowhere, The Converters, The Godfathers etc) with the aim of completing an album, “Apes, Ivory and Peacocks” with a likely single being “Watch and Wait”. As for live performances, who knows as those involved are rather spread across the country but never say never.

During the lockdown of 2020 Dale wrote and recorded "The Isolation Stomp" at home and this is now available as a download single in support of Rock Off Fibro to help them raise awareness of the debilitating chronic pain condition fibromyalgia as well as depression and PTSD. This can be found on S.I.G.'s Bandcamp page (see link).
