@abs8lute  is a French music activist and passionate digger. As a groove lover, she enjoys driving her public into exciting techno storms with hypnotic atmospheres and percussive rhythms. Outside of the DJ booth, she works for a better representation of women, POC and queer people in the industry by giving DJing classes to minorites, animating talks and debates on inclusion, and by creating the Vénus Club, a collective of women DJs that recently took by surprise the French electronic scene. Her unique take on rhythm led her to appear several time at Berlin’s notorious Berghain with renowned artists such as MARRØN, Dasha Rush, DVS1, Ben Klock, Fadi Mohem and many more.

Somov Records head Ignez is up next with an unmissable techno number that’ll make you sweat. A younger self dropped the stuffy confines of his childhood on the Dutch coast and fled to Berlin as so many do, and there began to cultivate a sound that has placed him firmly among some of his talented and much talked about peers. The DJ/producer credits the seaside upbringing with instilling a deep respect for the rolling tides and endless sands, natural references that are deeply embodied in his hypnotising and immersive rhythms. His occasional return to home turf as resident of Amsterdam-based party series Eerste Communie has also played a significant role in his musical development and found him willing publishers in the likes of Token and SK_eleven, as well as a sparring partner in Berlin heavyweight Rødhåd (with whom he shares two EPs). It’s techno in purest form, bewitching loops that pulsate like those long ago shores. In that sound his ascetic beats are flanked by the most minimal detail and rely on raw percussive might to mesmerise his listener. A dancefloor portal to another world; transcendent stuff for sure. From small club settings to festivals on a larger scale Ignez brings a kind of magic that’s hard to turn a deaf ear to, Bassiani Podcast 220’s proof that he’ll pull those tricks at home too. A hour of virgin, mechanical beats that daze and enthral, a staunch reminder of techno’s visceral power and of why, for so many, it’s such a ruling passion.
