This pulses through the lyrics as a visceral rally cry for the "lost kids" and "outcasts" who stomp "bare feet" into "dirt and flame," chase fire to "feel alive," and run "through the chaos" because it's their elemental reality. The chorus's mantra—"We transcend the wreckage... We’re too alive to die"—embodies this unkillable spark, echoed in verses of festival haze, stitched spirits from "shattered side," and a hunger for meaning in "noise and shine." “Perimeter Lights” is a chapter out of the Fail-Safe Hearts era of Vector Collapse — a song about learning boundaries the hard way after a quiet breakup. It’s that first stretch in a new place where the walls are thin, the phone is loud, and you finally decide who still gets through and at what cost.

Sonically it leans into progressive/symphonic metal with darkwave and retrosynth colors: low-tuned guitars, pulsing synth bass, and widescreen choruses that still leave space for the lyrics to breathe. It’s not about revenge — it’s about drawing a line where you stop burning your own life just to stay available.
