Spellcoder - listenable stuff

The music I created together with a scrolling message I programmed for Hacky (one of my friends). The funny thing was that his few years old daughter started to dance on the music when we played it :P

Hacky's Birthday 2002

Made as part of a demo which I programmed for Jars (a friend of mine). It was inspired by the game Diablo II which we played.
So enter the birthday crypt, mhoehahahaha....
Here's the intro screen text that accomponied the music:

As Jars enters the crypt,
his only regret having forgotten to bring a torch,
he sees a eerie glow...

It just provides enough light to make out the outlines...
Carefully planning his steps he makes way to his destination..,
the terrible king of the crypt...

Moving closer the fearless adventurer trips over something...
Probably one of the corpses of previous adventurers that
have stacked up on the floor... Those poor souls fell prey
to the traps, may their sould rest in peace...

Unhindered by this experience our hero moves forward....
Glowing eyes stare at him....
Jars draws his sword and takes a swing at one of the eyes...

Suddenly a loud voice booms through his head:

Hey Jars, do you mind !!!
Stop stepping on my stuff....
I know I have to clean up my room....

Jars Birthdaytune 2002

The 3th preview/work-inprogress of my Bubble Bobble arcade game end tune remix.

This tune is also used as title screen music on the Amiga version (which is the version I've based this on). The original song was composed for the first Bubble Bobble arcade game (1986) by Tadashi Kimijima from Zuntata, which is the inhouse team of musicians for game developer Taito.

Most work on the 3th preview was done in august, some small changes in october and tiny changes yesterday. I feel it could be a little more dynamic and have some mixing/producing improvements. But it's slightly above my current skill level so I should either label it 'finished' or invest some time upping my skills.

Bubble Bobble endgame music remix (3rd preview, oct)

Track started 24 dec 2023, this export is from 5 jan 2024.

Thoughts:
- This track is still in a somewhat messy state. Not sure about the piano transition.. either have to remove it or clean it up somewhat (needs some direction/intention)
- Some EQ/balancing stuff needed, lacking skill so will just need to experiment
- What would it sound like with some real instruments?
- The drum pattern is too simple

Second attempt to remix 'what is love'.
- it a little darker and more fiesty than the first attempt
- it gets up to speed faster
- I feel this one is more a song in it's own right than remix like the first attempt

This one probably was the last piece of music I finished before moving on to other hobbies (photography, more programming, sport, watching tv shows).
