Some of our favorite compadres in the premiere game have to be the lads of SlothBoogie, Danny and Pat. Since their humble beginnings as a music channel, the two have branched out considerably the past few years; getting their hands involved in everything from promotion to running their own record label. In fact, the purpose of today's post is to help them mark an important milestone in SlothBoogie history - the fifth installment of their ever-popular EDITZ series. Like previous releases, Danny and Pat have managed to secure a spectacular cast of talented producers for their compilation. The 4 track EP includes everyone from seasoned veterans like Carlo and Luvless to promising up and comers like Zak Degenhardt of Cassettes For Kids.

Although the originals from those guys sound absolutely phenomenal, the one we chose to premiere today is actually a first for the group who rounds out the record - Bondi Bondi. Based out of Buenos Aires, this trio consists of notable DJs and producers Pabels, Signo, and Way. Much like the music they curate as individuals, the goal of the band seems to be 100% beach vibes with a strong emphasis on bringing classic disco and afro music to the forefront once again.

One of those tracks happens to be a Michael Cooper hit from 1987, which acts as the inspiration for their edit "Dinner 4-2." Taking the ridiculously romantic original, Bondi Bondi have decided to create the ultimate DJ weapon for setting the mood by upping the song's tempo and adding in a dancefloor assortment of bass, oceanfront ambiance, and groovy synth melodies.

Dean Zepherin is truly a producer who has managed to find his lane and appeal. born and raised in London, a suitably eclectic city for a man of his musical persuasion he is renowned for his consistently genre-pushing productions. In other words, a perfect match for Local Talk, a label not afraid to go beyond the classic 4/4 sound and explore different styles within house music.

Blue Moon is a organic, warm and enveloping chunk of deep house bliss and there's no doubt that Dean loves his house served with with plenty of horns.

Serving up a tasty post-meal dessert is an absolutely stellar disco chef – Mr Ray Mang. For many critics his remixes of Phenomenal Handclap Band – Judge Not (on the mighty Toy Tonics label) were the indie hit of the year. Supported by the likes of Gilles Peterson, it really was as good as the hype suggested. 

How does a discerning producer follow on from such a successful release like that? Well with another generous dose of what he does best of course! Luckily for him, and us, and you, that’s just what he’s done. Four to the floor, strong groove, handclaps, punchy horns, killer vocals and a bassline that doesn’t quit… The perfect disco recipe.

Le Hutin delivers here his 3rd EP, his 2nd under De La Groove banner. This EP definitively revolve around his every influences from 2-step, jazz, deep house or even ambiant of ways. He wanted to push his real capacities as a composer, and Inward Hellflip resolutely is an EP of strong composition.

The EP opens up over Dreamin' which pumps in a dreamy and garage light vibes, and get us right into his atmosphere. 2nd comes Visiting Groover Washington, which stand as a complete and massively coveted rework of one of Groover's standout tracks, courtesy of the great Leah on vocals.

3rd bangs in Aquarian Time, which also is the first release of Light Rhythms. The track is strongly sustained by complexe strings' lines, yet backed with some nice Organs and piano solo and paced in an upbeat tempo. Alex Theme stands as an outro, 100% played and home recorded, a nice journey in the ambiant valley where Le Hutin explore new kinds of horizon with in his own maner.
