Found this tape the other day. I seem to recall there were 2 tapes in a double case, but I have no idea what happened to the other tape and the box. I think t'other tape was Derrick Carter, not sure, someone nicked that years ago. Or I left it in their car, either way I ain't got it now.

Here's the climax... Side B. It has to be said that 1995 was a good year for deep house. This Murk set really peaks, so you need to hear both sides, really. So far, (11/09/2015)less than half the folk who listened to side A also listened to side B. !

Updated version! I had a wee faff wi this un. This is not something I usually do as I like to 'keep it real', if tha gets me. It's for the best. I have no doubt that the previously available version was turned off in disgust after 10 mins by a few listeners. This tiny (3min) edit will hopefully appease those folks.

Those cold nights are upon us again. Time for those extra pairs of socks and long-johns, along with Ready-Brek (porridge)to ensure an orange nuclear outline when venturing out. Try this mix under yer ear-muffs, if nowt else you may find it rather groovy (if a little wobbly...)

Festival Road was the band that emerged as The Mad Egyptians petered out. Festival Road is actually a mondegreen, from the band mis-hearing the name of Mr. Benn's street (Mr. Benn was a 70s kids cartoon from UK). This is from a cassette recorded in 1993 on my old Panasonic (where is it now?) at Sean's mams on edge of woods in Newmillerdam. Part of our weekly rehearsal. Trax are: 'Pearl Drops', 'Mr. Ultra-Violet', 'Roman Candle' and 'My Idea'. This is just a 15min chunk that I transferred years ago. I can't find anymore on this old HD, but there is more on tapes somewhere. Our kid asked me to upload it, so here it is.

At last! The full 12:45 John Morales mix of this 1979 underground boogie classic gets the proper vinyl release it has always deserved! Recorded by Greg Carmichael for the L.O.G.G. project on Salsoul, not included but released in a truncated form (11.05) on Moonglow Records in 1982. All those Discogs skankers can now safely crawl back under their stones... 

This release is the first time all twelve minutes and forty-five seconds have been pressed on wax (and in an ultra limited quantity), so don't miss it, Steven!

Having never received a full 1979 retail release in the USA (or any release at all in the UK), the US promo 12" (7:01 mins) of "Shining" by Venus Dodson continues to fetch considerable sums from collectors in 2017. "Shining" was a staple Paradise Garage banger and is surely one of the finest Leroy Burgess penned tracks to come from the peak years of disco. In the interests of restoring historical balance, Kinfine now presents a remastered, limited press, replica 12". Cut with love at 45rpm to ensure a higher audio resolution (than the hard-to-find original). Initial copies include a reproduction press-release card. Remastered from source. No represses. Out now! CLICKIN' 'N' GRINDIN' Off The Wall, Headrow, Leeds
or; "...the latest from Neptune" (mixed by JIM SHEASBY - 1996)

I can't remember recording this to be honest, I can't remember a tape deck at the venue. I found the cassette whilst tidying a room before decorating last year. Recorded in 1996 at Clickin' 'N' Grindin', which was a Thursday house night in Leeds. The venue was a dingy basement, reached through a neon glowering doorway off The Headrow, right opposite Leeds Town Hall. A hefty speaker cab rumbled overhead, into the night, piped from the main stack. DJ Maro and Bowen and I were the King Cut Groove. Passing the same spot today there is no clue that the nightclub ever existed. Ironically entitled Off The Wall, the venue was anything but. Black emulsion and chrome bannisters everywhere, sticky carpet wall to wall, except the ten square metre dancefloor. The manager was a Boy George obsessive and had made the place a stale and lagered shrine to the 80s gay icon. Almost every wall bore an image of the tacky pop star. Apart from tops and tails, the mix is untouched, it's a fairly diverse old bag and there are plenty of tracks on here I had forgotten all about. There is a  tracklist included in the ID tag. You have Satore to thank (or not, if you don't like it) for spotting the mix and asking me to provide this historical background.
