This is Draw The Line Radio Show with Jacki-E, presenting the best music from female producers and DJs.

Helping me Draw The Line, this week, with her guest mix in the second hour, it’s Nina Love who’s based in Somerset in the UK. She learnt to DJ in 2015 and over the past 5 years has started to make a name for herself, bringing funky, uplifting vibes with plenty of passion and energy and sharing line ups with some big names in house music. She’s DJ’d for events such as Devon Sessions, Getting Jiggy, Funkagenda Bristol and festivals Love Summer Festival and Yarty Party. She gained a Masters in Sound Art qualification in 2017 and in 2022 joined and relaunched Purple Noise CIC with a fellow musician, and they now run two studios, workshops and individual lessons, aiming to provide music tech opportunities to all in their local area.

Del latín, dissidentĭa, se define como la mirada escéptica y crítica ante sucesos firmemente establecidos entre la corriente mayoritaria del Sistema. Es un acto de rebeldía respecto al estándar comportamental de una Sociedad. Precedida de honestidad y afán genuino de búsqueda, la disidencia requiere disciplina, templanza, equilibrio, espíritu recio y escasa implicación emocional.

El Sistema, al cual pertenecemos de facto, nos convierte en cómplices dóciles en cuanto validamos sus postulados sin conciencia, ni el menor atisbo de oposición intelectual. La disidencia controlada emana del engaño sobre personas sinceras, o de la orquestación teatral desde su mismo origen. En ambos casos, el resultado es presentar como válido un Caballo de Troya, con la aviesa finalidad de reconducir a los verdaderos disidentes hacia una trampa, donde acaban sirviendo a los supuestamente criticados.

Los códigos del mal operan bajo la sibilina estrategia “Problema – Reacción – Solución”, promoviendo eventos capaces de ejercer de acicate, catalizando la indignación popular, reconduciéndola y desviándola de cualquier asomo contestatario, impulsando finalmente resoluciones liberticidas, amparándose en el bien común.

La disidencia controlada delimita los márgenes adecuados operantes, ayudándose también de la Ventana de Overton. En definitiva, es un lobo revestido de cordero, ante el cual, todo buscador de la verdad debiese estar prevenido.

Los artistas implicados en este proyecto tienen verdadera conciencia acerca del significado de la palabra Techno, profesando amor, dedicación, respeto y admiración hacia sus ritmos y postulados, basados en el esfuerzo, creatividad, libertad, artesanía, fusión y valentía. Son firmes defensores de valores, tradiciones y conceptos aparejados al mundo del vinilo, sin desprestigiar por ello el formato digital. 

Manuel Herrero a.k.a. SPIDJ se mantenía desde el 2018 en el anonimato productivo, investigando y experimentando entre las múltiples herramientas a su alcance, con la finalidad de expresar fielmente sus inquietudes electrónicas, donde priman valores como la constancia, la artesanía y originalidad, hasta el punto de emplear semanas en orquestar un simple bombo, hit hat o melodía; seleccionando, discriminando, desechando; aplicando constantemente ensayo y error. Asimismo, las voces de "Intense Groove" fueron grabadas en su pequeño estudio, evitando a toda costa el empleo de loops prefabricados y reduciendo al máximo el uso de samples.

El proceso final del audio fue confiado al magnífico estudio de Paul Mac y Ben Sims (Hardgroove Mastering), con un espectacular resultado. La potencia de los bombos, sutileza de las frecuencias subgraves, la claridad e inteligibilidad, fueron puestas de manifiesto para realizar un acabado de un vinilo que, sin duda, será una humilde pieza de coleccionista.

El diseño se encargó al siempre genial Guarino. Un artista del flyer, siempre a la vanguardia y conocedor como pocos de la belleza plástica del Techno.

The guest mix in the second hour is by Humberto Plaza, a DJ/Producer from Almeria in Spain. He soon established a reputation which saw him playing gigs in other parts of Spain such as Andalucia, Granada, Cadiz, Malaga & Madrid. His own productions feature acid basslines, percussive drums and gritty synth chords. He’s had releases on Cerebro, Sound Kleckse, Booster Music and Exetra Records.  His latest release, ‘Core Space’ came out on IAMT Red in April 2023.
