My "acoustic" version of the recent masterpiece by K37, "Learn to Listen" featuring the amazing vocals of Cory Friesenhan. The acoustic set up felt just perfect for this composition and I decided to give it a try. It's not 100% acoustic, you can find some electronic fx there (I wouldn't be Eidos without them), but overall feeling is chilled, relaxed and solemn. Some of the drive of the original is, hopefully, preserved, too.

Back in time once again with a look back on years gone-by in trance music history. In part 1 we join Kaori for her selection and she has brought tracks from the golden era for trance music, 1997-2004. Long before Kaori discovered trance music some of these tracks were being played in clubs such as Cream, Gatecrasher, Manumission on the island of Ibiza and for the older fans of the show you may recognise some of these classic tracks. In part 2 we go forward in time with Philip as he brings a combination of tracks from the late 00's all the way to 2020. For it was in the mid to late 00's that the sound of trance music changed and with artists such as Andy Blueman and New World that brought a more cinematic and epic sound to trance. This is an episode full of memory, discovery and nostalgia that demonstrates how much trance music has changed over the years but one thing it has never lost is that feel-good feeling that we all know and love.

I've finally put the lot together, after several revisions, and I think it's ok now. The Gloria has had some significant extension within the organ part...there was something nagging at the back of my mind that it wasn't complete, so I went in again to sort it.

Written 15-16 September 2019. A Bach aficionado will be likely to guess the pieces I was studying when I wrote this. The prelude is a Rondeaux, similar in form to the same-named movement from BWV 826, Partita in c-Moll. The recurring theme itself is shares the same key and bass motive with the aria "Der schädlichen Dornen unendliche Zahl" from the Cantata "Leichtgesinnte Flattergeister", BWV 181. The (2-voice) fugue subject is similar to both BWV 857, Prelude in f-Moll from WTC I, and the Gigue from BWV 827, Partita in a-Moll.

This is part of a new project, which I think is taking shape as "14 Kleine Präludien und Fugen", shorter, easier-to-play preludes and fugues in major and minor keys only up to 3 accidentals, in meters of only 5 and 7. At least that's my plan so far. Other meters might be included.

N.B. After recording this, I decided to make one small change to the score, in the transition from the 6th to 7th measure: alto now descends D, Cis, B, and the bass leaps B Fis B, to be slightly less repetitive and to set up the first sequence better.

Fractal Geometry's (Jakub Wereński) sound is mostly Trance Music of all kinds, for an example:
Progressive Trance, Uplifting Trance, Euphoric Trance, Dream Trance, Hard Trance, Psy Trance and Goa Trance.
Despite making trance, he also composes few other genres like: Reggae/Dub, Chillout, Drum&Bass, House, Downtempo, Ambient.
Fractal Geometry makes his music using MIDI Keyboard with controllers connected to his computer, and many virtual Syntheizers.

Simon Minay aka Spins showed a keen interest in music from a very early age. With very strong roots deep in the heart of classical music, Simon learned piano, trumpet, and later, harpsichord, as well, which became a favoured instrument. Inspired by listening to his grandfather's organ playing on his father's reel to reel, he attended York Minster Choir from age of 8 where he learned to sing as well.

At the age of 15, Simon fell in love with EDM, after being introduced to the likes of the Prodigy and other Goa/Psy trance sounds. House music followed, and at age 21, he attended Leeds College of Music where he studied Bachelor of Performing Arts degree, majoring in early keyboard music.

Recognising a big link between EDM and classical music, Simon's vision was to fuse the two styles. Early attempts at his own EDM music creations whilst at school in 1994/5  reflect this fusion; and later as well, in 2003, when he obtained his first computer to facilitate further creation.

After a period of slow progress, Simon's musical career has been steadily rising since 2012, when his work was signed by Beating Records & OSS Records Blue & Club G Records.

Truly, the EDM scene is enriched by this amazing sound fusion, and we look forward to hearing more of Simon's unique and beautiful trance style in the future.

Hello everyone! I really don't like talking about myself in the 3rd person...so glad my good lady wrote the above for me then! ^^ :-) I am a classically trained Pianist/Composer/Producer and I also teach piano on a part time basis. 
I have been composing music in various styles since I was age 12, mainly for piano. Since getting my first computer in 2003 (and using an ancient version of Cubase), I have been trying to create my own "trance" music, with mixed results. I am completely self taught when it comes to sequencing and production and I have a lot to learn. I would probably describe most of the tracks uploaded here as Euphoric Trance, with a little bit of classical influence thrown in, although I find it difficult to pidgeon hole most music these days. 
I am inspired by very many different artists and again it is difficult to comment on who or what is really responsible for my inspiration. I've always loved the balearic trance scene (Chicane is one fine example), but also much minimal techno, trance, progressive house/trance, psy trance etc.
I tend to steer away from using samples (apart from the odd percussion riff here and there) and have never used a sampler in my life. The percussion side of my production needs a lot of work. Most of the sounds I use are from various VST instruments and my quite old Yamaha keyboard. I like to use interweaving melodies and arps over flowing bass lines and I often use Robert Miles style piano melodies over the top of my tracks. If you like my muisc, please feel free to leave your feedback, rip open my production techniques, inform me where I am going wrong or sing my praises. Criticism is good!
