Hello everyone! This is my old profile page dedicated to old tracks of mine (most of which are unreleased) and bit's of performances I have made of Johanne Sebastian Bach, probably one of the greatest composers that ever lived (he's a huge influence on me if you hadn't already guessed!) However my "Daily Dose of Bach is un-maintainable now since I got my life back following a hideous divorce, year in limbo writing trance (see my other profile https://soundcloud.com/spins-1 ) ....I'm now gonna post older tracks of mine from 2003 - 2012 on here. I hope you enjoy my paltry efforts into the dance music scene! ;-) 
My name is Spins (real name Simon) and I am a classically trained Pianist/Composer/Producer and I also teach piano on a part time basis. 
I have been composing music in various styles since I was age 12, mainly for piano. Since getting my first computer in 2003 (and using an ancient version of Cubase), I have been trying to create my own "trance" music, with mixed results. I am completely self taught when it comes to sequencing and production and I have a lot to learn. I would probably describe most of the tracks uploaded here as Euphoric Trance, with a little bit of classical influence thrown in, although I find it difficult to pidgeon hole most music these days. 
I am inspired by very many different artists and again it is difficult to comment on who or what is really responsible for my inspiration. I've always loved the balearic trance scene (Chicane is one fine example), but also much minimal techno, trance, progressive house/trance, psy trance etc.
I tend to steer away from using samples (apart from the odd percussion riff here and there) and have never used a sampler in my life. The percussion side of my production needs a lot of work. Most of the sounds I use are from various VST instruments and my quite old Yamaha keyboard. I like to use interweaving melodies and arps over flowing bass lines and I often use Robert Miles style piano melodies over the top of my tracks. If you like my muisc, please feel free to leave your feedback, rip open my production techniques, inform me where I am going wrong or sing my praises. Criticism is good!
