No stranger to the decks, @Kerosine-1 wraps up the first quarter of flyover with a sonic journey after working behind the scenes on the project. 

Though he says it’s not intentional, he captures the many vibes of pandemic living in mix form. Moving seamlessly from sad, longing, atmospheric tracks made all the dreamier by the additional reverb to nightmarish looping vocal samples drowned out by static, this mix sounds like what the past 13 months have felt like... he said it “was just like, these are the fucking tracks. These are the ones that are really hitting right now….I tend to look for tracks that have that wavy, Warp [Records] nostalgic type sound, with really melancholy melodies.”

After two months in cryogenic sleep during long distance space travel, the crew has awakened from hibernation to see they have arrived safely on the ocean planet of Alpha Tauri C in the Aldebaran system. Kerosine was introduced to the midwest underground via Intellephunk parties in late 2013. Since then, he’s thrown parties under the monikers Source and Stay in Crew in Fargo, ND, and started collaborative online publication @flyoversound in 2021. He enjoys spinning the deeper and dubbier side of house and techno, striving to differentiate from the abrasive and dissonant.

Welcoming @akkobeats to The Spinzone Radio Show with a long overdue guest mix. Andrew is a pillar of the local scene here in the Minneap, making all kinds of events possible... I'm sure I speak for a lot of us when I say we're very lucky to have him :)

With his oldest roots stretching back to classical piano and guitar, he started producing his own records in 2011. However, it wasn’t until 2013 that his true vocation began to emerge, fueled by the world of electronic music. His early involvement with Hydrive Shows opened doors to gigs and fostered a sense of community - the driving force behind his engagement in the midwest DJ scene. From house parties to popular clubs and venues in the Twin Cities, it has always been more about sharing the love for music rather than an ego driven venture. 

His sets are a seamless blend of house, techno, UKG, and leftfield beats, characterized by their rhythmic grooves and diverse tempos. A significant stint at Dubzoo in London, UK, in the mid-2010s, cemented his love for the underground electronic music scene and shaped his professional ethos.

A decade into his craft, Andrew is a studio owner at Origin 414 and contributes to the evolving landscape of the Midwest dance music scene through events like Enigma and Decadance. Co-founded with Mike Johnson & Louis Quicksell, he opened Eunoia Studios, a digital agency dedicated to empowering independent artists through digital products and immersive physical experiences.
