Born in Rio de Janeiro, his career began to flourish in 2008 when he started residencies at clubs like Fosfobox, Dama de Ferro and Clandestino. Meanwhile, he established himself as resident DJ in many relevant e-music parties, which culminated in the RARA party - responsible for bringing to Rio legends like Derrick Carter and Derrick May in its first and second editions.
Bernardo had the arduous task of warming up for these icons and, on both occasions, was praised by all (including the artists). In his portfolio there are also gigs with Laurent Garnier, Moodymann, Carl Craig, Mark Farina, Solomun, Booka Shade, Jamie Jones, Magda, Anthony Rother, among others. As a music producer he had support from big names like Laurent Garnier, Richard Dorfmeister, Fish Go Deep, Fouk and also official remixes from Rick Wade, Jkriv, Hotmood and Felipe Gordon.
During 2013 he was one of the most requested DJs in Rio de Janeiro, which earned him the "Night Rio Award" as the best e-music DJ of the city, in addition to his summer residence at the paradisiacal Tikal Praia Bar in Algodões, Bahia and at the Pato com Laranja bar where besides playing he signs the curatorship. He is also resident of the parties Cuscuz, Festa do Bbzão and Água Viva.
In 2019 he created the project Nu Azeite alongside the multi instrumentalist Fábio Santanna. This project is a mix of boogie, disco, trip-hop with Brazilian music. He released two albums with this project highly praised by specialized media and critics. Since the beginning, his career has been growing consistently and well planned. It’s based on a constant research and musical training that gives him respect to play in a variety of dance floors besides working as a curator of parties and bars.

Dedicated in mixing beloved, yet innovative, high-quality dance tracks to music devotees and providing a euphoric experience that makes them feel inspired and connected, DJ Marcus iLL will never give up on a dance floor. He played a few clubs in Montreal, Toronto, New York City and the Caribbean before moving to Jakarta in 2012 where he enjoyed a great party scene with residencies at Millenium IEC and Malio Club, and hosting special events at clubs like Stadium, Exodus, X2 and Mille’s just to name a few. He also had the pleasure to tour Indonesia with memorable nights at Entrance in Medan, Muse in Samarinda and the after hours Deejay Club in Kuta, Bali, amongst others. Marcus’ formula is a driving, rhythmic yet dignified house style, in other words, a mix between Jerome Isma-Ae and Filterheadz. Often referred as the hard hitter, his selection best fits peak hour as it is delivered in a powerful and energetic blend. Now living in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, you can find DJ Marcus iLL playing on a regular basis at Meta House, Pontoon Pulse and other electronic events!
