They run their own events brand called ‘Crossing Worlds’ and have become a staple for afro-house & organic music in the Vancouver nightscene. The duo weaves their multicultural backgrounds into a story that takes audiences traveling through sonic landscapes that span from Latin America to their mother continent of Africa. Iris Anahata is a Malaysian-born DJ based in Berlin. Throughout her life, dance and music has been a way to release and transmute emotions, and provided a window to understanding and integrating the body with the heart. Weaving sonic journeys by transmuting the dualities of dark and light, her sets are all uniquely crafted with a touch of ethereal vocals and heavy basslines. She lights up the dancefloor with sounds that range from downtempo to melodic and progressive techno, and wishes to use music as a way to unite and heal our collective.

After dancing my heart out at Mira's 45th birthday, as I left Kater to make my way home, I took a moment to set an intention: next time I'll come here, I'm coming to play music myself. 

Little did I know that, two weeks later, I would receive a spontaneous invitation to play for the first time at the club which resonates with me the most music-wise ❤️ this gig was in December, very close to the finish line of my master's thesis. Back then, I made an agreement with myself that I would only publish the set after handing in my thesis, so I've been waiting patiently to share this one with you 😊 and doing so not only means I am now a renewable energies engineer, but also that I have much more space in my life to play music. Concluding this chapter means there's nothing inside of me holding me back from my musical path any longer! 

This set was actually challenging for me for different reasons. But precisely by letting go of any previous plan, I found that connection with the crowd and with whatever wanted to flow through me in that moment. May you enjoy these two hours of pure flow out of the 4h set I played that morning (:

The Niyamas (Sanskrit: नियम, romanized: Niyama) are positive duties or observances. In Dharma, particularly Yoga, niyamas and their complement, Yamas, are recommended activities and habits for healthy living, spiritual enlightenment, and a liberated state of existence. It has multiple meanings depending on context in Hinduism. In Buddhism, the term extends to the determinations of nature, as in the Buddhist niyama dhammas.

Virtues are extensively discussed in various ancient and medieval era texts of Hinduism. In its Yoga school, they are described in first two of eight limbs (steps, branches, components). The first limb is called yamas, which include virtuous self-restraints (the "don'ts"). The second limb is called niyamas which include virtuous habits, behaviors and observances (the "dos").
These virtues and ethical premises are considered in Hinduism as necessary for an individual to achieve a self-realized, enlightened, liberated state of existence (moksha).

In Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, the Niyamas are the second limb of the eight limbs of Yoga. Sadhana Pada Verse 32 lists the niyamas as:

- Shaucha (शौच): purity, clearness of mind, speech and body
- Santosha (सन्तोष): contentment, acceptance of others and of one's circumstances as they are, optimism for self
- Tapas (तपस्): austerity, self-discipline, persistent meditation, perseverance
- Svadhyaya (स्वाध्याय): study of self, self-reflection, introspection of self's thoughts, speeches and actions
- Ishvarapranidhana (ईश्वरप्रणिधान): contemplation of the Ishvara (God/Supreme Being, Brahman, True Self, Unchanging Reality), attunement to the supreme consciousness
