Bayou City Funk is a collection of All-star musicians and brass players that have come together to form (one of) Houston’s premiere funk band. All members have been involved with other musical projects, but a shared passion for funk and roots music was the catalyst that forged this talented group of seasoned players. Drawing inspiration from the originators and pioneers, to the heavy hitters shaping the modern funk scene, BCF built their unique sound that spans the spectrum of funk. Their debut album ‘Down to Funk’ captures both the eclectic funkiness of the Bayou City, and the spirit of their high-energy performances.

03 Down To Funk

'Here Comes the Night' is the first single off the new album 'Electric Darlin' from the band of brothers Folk Family Revival.  Its a song one could have heard in the top 40 radio stations in the hay day during the 70s' or on modern day radio. It is a timeless rock anthem that would work in film as an intro while the credits are being played or during a scene leading up to the party. Folk Family Revival is notorious for late nights and their rock n' roll lifestyle. They not only live up to the legend but they do it with a hint of kindness and total lack of ego. - Here Comes the Night!

Some labels may emphasize family and earth friendliness while having a kind gentle spirit. Other labels may work for profit geared toward the building up of itself and a music centered lifestyle. Splice integrates the two, being earth friendly and family oriented with our time and resources, but raw and punk rock in its recordings. Our shows are celebrations with no end and they come from the basic philosophy drawn from the Dionysian spirit.

Splice Records foremost concern is to produce excellent music and merchandise. The second objective is to find our tribe, the people who would love what we produce and whose lives would be enriched by our work, and get that work into their hands. The third objective is to leverage any success, financial or social, toward building greater community and bringing the highest of spirits of celebration into the 21st century.
