Following last summer’s release of ‘Millersdale’, his first new material in 3 years, William Doyle (previously Mercury nominated with his East India Youth project) today reveals a new track ‘Nobody Else Will Tell You’, taken from his forthcoming new album, full details of which will be announced very soon. The song also features Laura Misch guesting on Saxophone.

Both this track and the album in general explore the theme of the suburban environment, inspired by William’s experience of having grown up in that world and how he eventually saw beyond its ordinary stereotypes, to something that was illuminating and inspirational. 

As William explains: “ ‘Nobody Else Will Tell You’  became about the exploration of your residential surroundings and affording them the same kind of curiosity and wonder that a woodland or a mountain range is meant to inspire within you.  People are very accustomed and attracted to this idea of ‘finding yourself’ in nature, but I feel that I found myself just as easily in winding avenues and front gardens.  If we were more in touch with the psychedelic possibility of what we are constantly told is banal or mundane, we’d have greater respect for it and ourselves.”

@Ami-Dang is a South Asian-American vocalist, sitarist and producer living in Baltimore. Her work fuses ambient, trance and electronic music with instruments from her native India. For her new album, Parted Plains -- a stunning instrumental sitar record -- Ami took inspiration from both South Asian and Middle Eastern folktales and the Western interpretations of them; resulting in not a culture clash, but a beautiful project that sits somewhere in between. Fully impressed, we asked her to make us a mix.
 
“I put together a combination of ambient, experimental and noisy electro tracks from artists from Baltimore, India, and a couple from artists (from elsewhere) working with electronics and South Asian instruments and sounds, like sitar and harmonium,” she says of the mix. “It kicks off with some poetry from Ellen Klowden over a serene jam: the recording of her voice is the exact one she sent to me via an Instagram message after she did some energy work, like Reiki, on me in the Owen Rose Garden after sunset on the Willamette River in Eugene, Oregon. Her poem “Aura Dancing" is the perfect way to enter the zone of this mix.”

Dutch underground acid-techno act Random XS strikes again with two rugged and authentic dance floor rockers. After a long awaited re-release of their Djax-Up-Beats classic 'Give Your Body' last year on Delsin, they return with a pair of fresh and unheard acid jams on the closely related MOS Recordings. Both tracks recorded in the early '90s, but only recently finalized and improved for heavy club impact. It's an EP full with gurgling 303 grooves and raw energy in the traditional and energetic Random XS way.
