This is a jazz ballad I wrote, performed at the University of Texas at Austin on April 13, 2022 by Andrew Dana (piano), Joel Laviolette (guitar), Jae Garcia-Herrera (drums), and Eli Miller (bass). Lyrics below.

A million miles and a thousand tides–
it's been awhile since we kissed au revoir.
But even though we're so far apart,
baby the moon shines bright!
And when we gaze up into the stars in the sky,
It's the very same moon we see tonight.

Under the warm hues of the nighttime sun,
I muse on our past delights. I'm one
sentimental soul that no one can condole
but that plump pearl so whole,
like two halves united. And though we're now divided,
maybe in many a moon we'll be excited
to meet again soon.
