I fell in love with DnB / Jungle music in 1997 while discovering the sounds of V , Full Cycle, Metalheadz, Moving Shadow, Good Looking, Playaz, Prototype and RAM. 

After a few nights out to experience sets by DJ Storm, Optical, Krust, DJ Shadow, Daft Punk and DJ Krush, the obsession with mixing took root. At the time I was also a freshly trained radio host. It seemed natural to start bringing the two passions together and in the early 2000s I produced and hosted the DnB radio show Forward Fast on Montreal's CISM radio, staying on the pulse of the movement and the evolution of the sound. Life then led me in different directions but lockdown brought me back to the jungle. 

I started the Bassrubs mixtapes in April 2020, a series of studio sets blending various flavours of Drum & Bass, Jungle and bass-heavy beats.

DJ Jooki has been on the pulse of the underground since 1996, carving out a fierce reputation in the world of drum & bass. Hailing from England and now rooted in Northern Ireland, Jooki specialises in the darker, more intricate rhythms of Neurofunk.
With nearly three decades behind the decks and in the studio, DJ Jooki fuses precision engineering with raw energy, delivering sets that are both cerebral and visceral. From warehouse raves to digital airwaves, his sonic architecture reflects a deep reverence for bass culture’s foundations, while always driving forward with experimental edge.
