Made with Odin2 plugin under Ardour and its Tracker Editor.  Initially made for the Libre Music Challenge https://lmc.nyxkn.org/ (LMC#12), reworked and uploaded here.

As I did last year with my metal rivisitations of "All I want for Christmas is you" (called "All I want for Christmas is Odin", you can find it on Bandcamp, YouTube, Spotify and other places) and "Last Christmas" (called "('twas a) Ghast Christmas", you can find it here on Soundcloud), I had new idea for these holidays as well. I always considered "Feliz Navidad" to be too happy of a song, so this was my attempt to fix it, by making it more evil, more metal, more MORE. Happy holidays!

As usual, everything was written and recorded using open source and free tools: Ardour, MuseScore, Hydrogen/DrumGizmo (MuldjordKit), sfizz, Calf, DragonFly Reverb, Virtual Playing Orchestra and others. All guitars were recorded using my POD X3 Live instead.

Feliz Navidad (al Infierno)

I started making this track exactly one year ago, but because I was stressed out at the time, I didn't finish it despite being so close to completion.

Finally, with a bit of rest between my resignation and my upcoming study, I decided to finish all the unfinished projects, like to continue the following chapters of my 3xLog, to learn how to draw better for my ideas, and this track.

Rapture [LMC28]

I collected as many Yamaha DX7 patch files as I could and deduplicated each voice within each patch file. There were 59,907 SYSEX files, most of which contained a bank of 32 voices each, for a total of 1,853,728 voice sounds. After hashing the non-name content of the voice (the actual parameters of the sound), I found 31,380 unique voices made by musicians over the years for the DX7. Here they all are. Tag your favorite.

I'm a music enthusiast by compulsion and a software developer by trade hailing from Cologne, Germany. I developed my deep love for synthesizers and sound design in my thirties, although I had been playing various instruments since my childhood and even had a Korg Poly 800 analog synthesizer in my teens.

I have an eclectic taste in music, but I gravitate towards melodic pieces, which tell a story. My compositions also cover a wide variety of styles from synth pop to progressive rock and folk to classical.
