this song came about after a recent trip to spain and the inspiration is not about the death of love but more about leaving your inner troubles and demons behind on the road and starting again..we can live many different lives in the time we got but its how we chose to live and lead them

Teardrop on the Cheek of Time

In this track I try out my new looper. This thing is a game changer. 
It changes the way I practice, improvise and record music. Somehow it's a bit like the old days, no computer and just a few record buttons and pedals. 

But actually creativity is back and it's a bit like finding a supposedly lost treasure. It's been ages since I've recorded anything new, but suddenly I'm back in the home studio with those good old synths, guitars, flutes and accordion. That looper is addictive.

The title of the recording literally means 'close to the water'. Well, the last few years have not been easy and too many events have recently brought me to tears. Hence the melancholic mood.

Recently, I came across a free Kontakt library called "Pistachiotone MR-65" by a developer Chromatic Instruments. This is a meticulous recreation of a home keyboard from the early 1980s. At first, I thought this won't be for me as I usually gravitate toward more pristine sounds. However, this library features sounds that are suprisingly warm, deep, and diverse. So I decided to compose a whole track using only the sounds made with this library. This is my little homage to the works of Tangerine Dream and John Carpenter and a venture into music style I haven't explored before.

Played gently for a close-mic intinate feel, with 'open string' macro on, and without any reverb.

This is a WIP violin patch I'm working on. I stripped it back to basics and I'm building it back up. So far the instrument has a pre-resonant state that you can hear here, and some tweaks to body resonances that give it character. I'll work more on that soon.

Normalized (louder) here to -12dB. It's quiet.

I'm a music enthusiast by compulsion and a software developer by trade hailing from Cologne, Germany. I developed my deep love for synthesizers and sound design in my thirties, although I had been playing various instruments since my childhood and even had a Korg Poly 800 analog synthesizer in my teens.

I have an eclectic taste in music, but I gravitate towards melodic pieces, which tell a story. My compositions also cover a wide variety of styles from synth pop to progressive rock and folk to classical.
