And I’m not much of an artist as much as I’m an author

In the day and age where doctors prescribe chasers with their cough syrup
I’m not sure if these rappers even try to rhyme 
As far as good and bad goes, I am the dividing line
Express opinions in these bars with a biased mind
While I’m negotiating with terrorists trying to buy us time
I can’t help it, I’m so fucking focused
That the last verse I wrote was the dopest until I wrote this
I’ve been trying to be the man since like ’06 
And these days, I hang on to my dreams by a roach clip
I’m an herbalist, it’s good for the environment
At the age of 18, I blew your fucking retirement 
I’m working on making your salary mine
It’s funny how hourly wages make you value your time
It’s not really funny but it’s funny when you say it is
Sober thoughts from the high mind of a native kid
And I swear to god, I’m such a fucking hypocrite  
Told the nearest kid “drugs are bad” as I hit the spliff
