Spring Break are a vaguely outrageous, psychedelic 3 piece folk funk outfit, hand crafting screwball anthems deep in the Highlands of Scotland. Amalgamating a wealth of experience in vocal performance and musicianship, whilst fusing the hip hop languages of scratching, beat-boxing and lucid lyricism with the foibles of apathy and the implied abuse of aquatic life.

The understated yet exacting playing of musical director Ben Hesling is expertly crafted and instantly absorbed, whilst the powerful control of Emily Mackinnon’s vocals is grippingly emotive, yet embossed in subtlety. Butterscotch’s painstaking personal raps pepper the songs with a graceful intensity amidst a smattering of turntablism.

All the while production mastermind Thelonious Rumpus oversees the proceedings atop his plush dental throne, with a broad technical expertise and cask conditioned understanding of music.
A sound as rich and invigorating as volleying a cricket ball through the windscreen of an arsehole’s stationery Land Rover. Together they present a jubilant floral tribute to the not yet deceased.

Spring break are ready to be released into the wild.

With DELAMERE's festival season now all wrapped up, new single 'Heart' is set to provide one last dose of shimmering Summer sun ahead of their UK Tour dates this Autumn.
 
Though they formed in the Midlands, Stoke's Delamere are a band met with open arms anywhere they go. Adopted by Manchester, welcomed by Sheffield and recently, even that there London has got in on the act. Having spent a Summer playing various festivals across the UK, most notable of which saw them play every date of Dot to Dot, the band are now looking ahead to the inevitable first album. Before that however, still riding high on the praise that was heaped on their Bright Young Things EP earlier this year, Delamere have rerecorded one of their earliest releases in order to whet appetites just a little more.

More polished than its original iteration, 'Heart' sees the return of the band's emphatic percussion, bringing with it swathes of optimistic synths, rumbling bass and singer James Fitchford's fraught vocal delivery. Where previous singles, 'Bright Young Things', 'Headstrong' and 'Do You Want Me' all offered up a moodier, more frenetic side to Delamere, hinting at both a more electronically-driven direction and a more subdued introspective approach to their lyricism. Following on from those, 'Heart' feels more like a cathartic release; its vast chorus providing a rich landscape that's difficult not to revisit.

With Delamere's festival season all but wrapped up, 'Heart' will provde fans with one last dose of shimmering Summer sun ahead of the inevitable onslaught of Autumn releases. And with the likes of Artrocker, Louder Than War and Backseat Mafia all championing the band for bigger things, it's the perfect track to see where Delamere have been, and more importantly, to see exactly where they are today.

THE OK SOCIAL CLUB – debut single – 'The Shape Of Things To Come' (Released 12th March 2012).

'The Shape of Things to Come' is the debut single from Edinburgh's The OK Social Club, one of Scotland’s brightest young bands. Drawing from a diverse range of influences from 50's girl groups to 70's punk, The OK Social Club exhibit their writing talents in full throughout the song - it's guitar driven, with a foot stomping rhythm and unforgettable hooks. This catchy and energetic track has radio play written all over it. 

Backed up by two B-Sides - 'Twist, Learn, Kick and Scream'  and 'Twisted Young Gentlemen', this release is a strong mark in the sand from a band with a confident grasp of their own identity.

"it's all about the melody - we're a pop band at the end of the day", says the band's charismatic front-man Raff.
When asked why they chose The Shape Of Things To Come as their debut single, he added, "it's a good representation of what we're about, it's a new song with bags of energy and an indicator of what's to come."

The band will be celebrating the launch of their first single with a gig on 24th March at Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh, followed by a UK tour in April. 

Guitarist Chris Finn says "It's been great fun recording these songs, but I've missed playing live, I can't wait to play in front of people again. Our first demos were played on local and national radio shows which led to us gigging up and down the country, hopefully this single will help us build on that."
